The moderns range seriously needs a Leopard 2A5. Used by many nations today, in action in Afghanistan.

US infantry in great coats & Forage Caps (at right shoulder shift) IE Fredricksburg
Ragged Confederates IE Hood's Texans
Cavalry in ACTION poses
CS Cavalry with shotguns and pistols and US with Sabres in fighting poses
Iron Brigade in Hardee Hats and Frock Coats with gaiters
US troops in Frock Coat and Kepi
CS Troops in Frock Coat and Slouch Hats
Heavy Coastal Artillery and Crew
US and CS Sailors and naval landing parties
Civilians
More Personalities - Hood, Cleburne, Forrest, Rosecrans, Thomas for the WESTERN theatre!
Troops of all kinds taking hits

In general the infantry and cavalry need to be in better action poses like you'll find in 15mm and 28mm lines. The 10mm Napoleonic Cavalry is done in this manner. Why not ACW?
PLEASE!!!

Hi all,

the Danish Army uses Leopard 2A5 in AFG. Nevertheless I share cama's view that the A6 was a good choice, as it can be used for GE, NL, SP, GR and most recently CA.
The Leo 2A5 would work with GE, NL, DK, SE.

Cheers Ben

Hi,

I just want to add my 20 cents...

Civilian vehicles in 1/285 scale, 30s-40s period would be a must-buy for anyone serious about urban diorama building... cars, VW beetle, lorries, carts, maybe even trains. (If this does not infringe on any vehicle design copyrights.)

Infantry riding on tanks.

My proposal is NOT just to mold a little "blob" of infantry to be added on the back of existing models. Like the PzGrenadiers of stock N° G101 http://www.ghqmodels.com/store/g101.html
wich are sold separatly from the halfracks.

My idea is to mold a couple of tanks with already added in very realistic and plastic position lots of infantry, like shown by these photos.

GHQ could add very easily some infantry on existing tanks, mold everything, and sell them. It would be enought making some "representative" tanks for the major nations. For exampl. PzIII for early and phanters for late germans, T-34/76 for russians, and later maybe T-34/85, Shermans for Americans. In all just 4 starting "easy-to-do" models (I suppose so, because the tanks already exists). For example the whole bunch of infantry could be casted with the turret, so no work should be done on the cassis.

These would be very cool and many would buy them. I Hope GHQ have something like this in mind. For the last time I say this could be a very easy thing to do.

Thank You! LImageImage[/url]

Great Idea - casting turrets with infantry, only this may limit their use. If possible, mold separate infantry to place on the vehicles in vehicle scale (like the artillery figures). This would allow you to add Infantry to ANY vehicle. The artillery fellows are soft enough to bend if needed.

I agree that the MB 70 is cool-looking, but I would encourage wishes for something that got beyond the prototype stage.

On the other hand, in my favorite area of Micronauts, I would love to have a 1/2400 model of the British N3 battleships.

I guess that is the supply and demand depending on who wants what and how much of a demand it gets to be made...... the maus tank had only 2 in prototype stage models

Ramblings on WWII infantry

Post by Vdmfighter »

Hello,
I post some ideas sent to GHQ staff in ...November 2007, and apologize if some of these ideas have been already discussed (I did not check in the previous messages).
I have left aside the question of armour (and softkins etc), and emphasis is here on WWII infantry (even if some ideas could be used for the Modern range too).
Suggestions are :
-Troops in colonial helmets
- a "big" question which is not well covered in any scale : partisans.
The French resistance, and Italians, Russians, and Yugoslavs who liberated themselves should be done with a mix of regulars and "partisans" in various headgear(s) and a mix of military and civilian clothes. So...a "generic" pack
of partizans ?
- French WWII troops :
- colonials with cheches and chechias in a) 1940 uniform, b) british uniform,c) US uniform
-Goumiers in djellabas
- Troops in US uniform with Adrian helmet
- 1940 chasseurs in berets (may be part of the list below)

- Specific Elites forces. For commercial purposes I'd suggest these being sold as "half packs" (about 30 figs ) , whose cost would be a little more than half of the standard packs.
Some ideas : British commandos, Rangers, SAS ,Corps Francs, Soviet marines, Assault engineers of many armies. With similar poses, of course as this would simplify the job and the identification of the "elites" for customers/players, (and perhaps some specific material should be issued too : boats, engineers stuff and the like ).

- specific command packs for Allied and Axis armies : about 8/12 figs with members of tanks crews,
staff officers (in caps or not or both),etc. Something which could be added to existing packs of motos, jeeps or Kubelwagens.
Cheers ,
Vdmfighter

Land-Wasser Schlepper - An amphibious tractor based on Panzer IV chassis which carried a large pontoon and a cabin. Planned to be used in Operation Sea Lion. After it was cancelled, it was used in the Eastern Front and along the Baltic Sea area.
