KUDOS TO GHQ!

Post by Ritter »

Just got my latest order from GHQ and it included the new G-525 German Infantry #2 and the Romanians.

Let me just say that all other projects are on HOLD!

These are the reasons I hold GHQ above all others. The German Infantry are simply superb! The level of detail and the poses are awesome. The advancing LMG team is in a class by itself - the ammo carrier and MG carrier will add drama to your infantry stands. The NCO and crouching figure can be added to the existing HMG team to fill out the base. The walking figure with rifle held in one hand and be bent easily into many different poses - one in particular that I have seen in a Stalingrad picture with the rifle held parallel with the ground. He could also double as a mortar loader.

GHQ has been listening - there are not loads of Officers in the Romaninan Infantry - just enough. There are now second crewmen on the Romainian Heavy Weapon teams - (and with a little helmet surgery, they could be made into Russians - the LMG team could easily be made into a DP team). My only beef is that there are a limited amount of poses in the Romainian rifle Infantry (3 excluding officer and prone observer) But this is a minor issue as I will be using these fellows to supplement the Russian Rifle Infantry I have made from SMG fellows.

Well Done!

.. I've been waiting for someone to chime in about the German Inf #2. I personally think the picture of them stinks, and the total lack of ANYBODY saying anything about them after such preemptive fanfare, makes me very skeptical. But if you say they are superb,my order for them goes out ASAP....

The #2 German infanrty pack are fair. There are a few useful figures in the pack. The Romainan's could have used a SMG figure, I realize the Romainan's entered the war with very few Smg's but GHQ did mold one to the base of the mortar crew. I hope down the road GHQ will add a #2 pack for the Romainan's, like Mountain troops in berets with pack mules where SMG's figures could be included. Over all I was pleased, at last we can add the Romanian's to the eastern front order of battle. Thanks GHQ!!!!!!

Thanks for the heads up Troy, I've been thinking to get the German Infantry #2, your brief review of them has me thinking I'll order them tonight :D

Now if you would please hurry and paint them and post pictures, I'll be much happier

Thanks,
