Reference to the para's posses lets also have them in firing positions so they look like they are engaged in combat. Also the Werhmacht 47 range is a great idea, hopefully we will get the infantry with the MP 44 with that. For the Hungarian Infantry and heavy weapons, please no Soviet heavy machines guns as used with the Romanian heavy weapons packs. All in all like I said earlier in this posting its a great list and I will be sending a mint adding to my collection. Thanks again GHQ for listening.

Germans 47?

WELL I HOPE YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE SOME ALLIED 47' to FIGHT THE GERMANS WITH!!!!!! You can't have a wargame without an opponent!

And 'm not going to use 75' SHERMANS!
How about a TORTOISE, T44, a T95 GMC and a Centurion I ??????

And more MORE ^&#$ BRITISH TRUCKS????? I have enough different British trucks to let each British soldier ride in one all by himself!
How about throwing us 39' wargamers a little bone and making ONE Polish truck??? They built tens of thousands and their motorized units did have em you know! Besides, you can always list it under the German section as captured.

Kudos on the American 37mm - much appreciated!

Overall, I think it's a nice list, even though there are only a few things of interest to me as a modern USMC gamer (then again, I allready have almost everything).

A few more types of modern infantry would have been nice (Chinese, Germans, Mogadishu militia, special forces), but I guess they will be addressed when all the WW2 infantry is complete. But since I would say WW2 is pretty much exhausted in terms of infantry, this problem will be solved in the next few years.

Furthermore, I must say that the logic of starting a new range of microarmour, while the older ranges are far from complete, eludes me. But then again, as a wargamer I know how hard it is to stay focused when cool new ideas keep popping into your head. Sometimes you just want to start on something new and then logic doesn't have much to do with it.

EDIT: Btw, what are these:
RC16 130mm howitzer w/ SX190-7 prime mover
RC17 152mm howitzer w/ SX190-7 prime mover

I tried looking them up, but can't find 'em. For which period and country are these?

Rutgervanm:
They are modern red Chinese. We tried to look them up too; came up blank.
Idle curiosity went no further. The Russky "Pinochio" is scary though...
I'm wondering about GWS-7 CS-1 Chester. Is this the US light cruiser,or something else?
I'd be sore tempted by the GWS series (including the Russians);if only for the PRE WW-1 ships coming out, if I'd the spare bucks for it.

I've been buying GHQ for about 40 years, and at 54 you always hope for a lot of missing stuff "soon"...
Not much for me this year, though there are a few things I've asked for.
Hopefully, there will be a few more additions now and then. Meantime, I'll be buying-

Hungarian infantry & weapons. Thanks; "Fritz, you can go back to the Wehrmacht now"
Like the man said; PLEASE no more captured Russian stuff! 81's & 20mm ATR's please.
Meanwhile, that Polish horse artillery pack is getting quite a work-out; er,identity crisis...

sFH-13aufLorraine- I still have 10 origional GHQ models of this, but wil retire them now. Nice to see it return to the line. Less common 105mm version- maybe just a gun-swap from the Wespe?

Italian 75/28- this IS good news! After 40 years we finally get their most common gun!
I'm "worried" about the tow for this, since it isn't listed yet- just more of the currently available "mini-trucks/tractors? I'd much prefer horses; I've already enough of these tows from all the extra 47's & 100's I'm sending the Romanians and Hungarians...

I might start picking up a few aircraft; so the PO, FS, & HS may get on the list.

I'm very surprised to see not one WW2 Russian item (OK-the PO & a CA).
While the "name" items are covered, there is a host of lesser known equipment especially from early war, as well as many tractors, transports, flak, ect.
But-nothing new at all? Even a limber or wagon...
Japanese? Non a single item in that line either. A Honi series SPG on your "97" chassis would be nice; there were 3 or 4 variants too. (I don't collect Japanese,BTW)
as someone else mentioned, the Poles really could use a truck. Polski-Fiat maybe...?

As for the tremendously exiting news of "1947"- THAT was a shock; of the worse kind.
I honestly can't understand this; especially with the virtually endless gaps in the current lines even after all these years. Leaves me utterly "cold", but "good luck".
Maybe you could just make Harry Turtledove's "Lizards". That "occured" in 1943 I think, and just might be more plausible as "what-if". Require far less resources too...

OK Master Scheef; time to start a "Micronaut Wish List for 2009 - 2010" topic. I'm busy working on my list. (Actually, it'll be fairly easy, as only two of my top 12 or so made it this year.) Some good Micronaut stuff is on the '09-'09 list, though. It'll be fascinating to see what GHQ comes up with on the Furious. Will it have one 18" turret? Or none? I'm not interested in the Soviets, BUT, for some weird reason I did want to see the CA Gorky. And the CA Canberra will fill up some of the holes in the English WWII CAs.

My only complaint is that there's ONLY 12 new ones (sob).

Very pleased about the forthcoming range of German 'what if' stuff, when are these liable to be released? and will you be doing a complementary allied range? will they be Ruskies Americans or Brits? Sorry for all the questions but you can't throw a dog a bone and then give him a titbit!! :?

I too am a bit confused with the 1947 line. I think the majority of WWII gamers here would rather see a completion of the WWII line before moving on to 1947. I really would rather you spent your resources and time on 39-45 than on a new line. As to Late, late war, I hardly game with any of the beautifully modelled Jagtigers and IS2s, not at all with the Maus or IS3 (don't own any :D )... but if it means we will be getting some MP-44 equipped trupens in camo smocks, well...

As a painter and gamer, I try to have all my minis at least look right for their intended roles and so must scratchbuild the heck out of my Russian and US/UK infantry forces. I hope by the re-do of the German and US Light AT weapons that means we will see the same for Russians (ATRs, RPG-1 - read captured PF-43 Molotovs, sappers maybe...) And for petes sake...RUSSIANS WITH RIFLES!

AIRBORNE - WOW!!...AND PLEASE GHQ, Jim buddy, please! The US airborne simply MUST have a .30 cal Browning MG - either the M1919A4 on tripod or the M1919A6 on bi-pod. (or both!) Most squads had an inherient .30 cal and a BAR simply won't do...Hey they are being dropped BEHIND enemy lines!!

Again thanks GHQ for the new stuff - I know its so easy to ** CENSORED ** from our side of the forum but you guys do a great job

German 47' range

Post by heavytrack »

Yes, I echo some of ritters thoughts. But I MUST ADD, THANK YOU, for what you already have done for us. It IS easy to critisise and moan, but come on you have a great range of vehicles already. As for the forthcoming 47' range, I for one am looking forward to them, but again I must ask are you bringing out other 'allied' vehicles for period 47'? and if so, when? But I must say again, a great big thank you guys. :D

GHQ, one of your best list yet. You guys did very well. Eagerly waiting each mirco-armor, building, and aircraft to be relased. Do not mind everyones negativeness.

Rutgervanm,

This site has pictures of Chinese equipment. The link is for the Type 63A Amphibious Tank. I looked at some of the arty and I'm wondering if the 152 howitzer is the Type 66. Also has picture of the prime mover. (SX190)

Totally tongue in cheek reply-
"Nah, why you want those? They ACTUALLY saw service! How 'bout a nice RamTiger instead..."

If I recall, the 24 StuIG33's fought and "died" in the Stalingrad cauldron.
Then there are the 2-dozen FlakPanzer 1's; comitted in Barbarossa and also destroyed with a FlakAbteilung caught in Stalingrad.
While small in numbers, I'd say those are pretty good qualifications to be made...

I see a total of 10 WW2 "ground units" listed for the year.
At least the "Mammoth" will see double duty with the Afrika Korps...
And has anyone else seen the photos of the GW Lorraine sFH-13 captured by "Coalition" forces in Iraq? Talk about an odd one for the "moderns" crew...<G>
