If GHQ adds Japan and Korea into the picture, they should also add on their infantry categories too.
As for me.
My hope for 2011-2012 would be
Same as u for Modern.
With the addition as usual of the type 23 UK frigate and Type 45 Daring Destroyer.
I remain adament on that.
Not really into WW2 or WW1
so nothing for me there.

I could definitely war game contractors in suburbans and land rovers. It would add a new aspect to some of the table top scenarios I play. Also, the suburbans/land rovers can be an objective. Capture the terrorist or protect the diplomat. Let's face it, today's world is more about unconventional warfare than conventional. The possibilities for civilian SUVs are endless! UN vehicles, mercenaries/contractors, Diplomatic Security Service, and more. GHQ hit the mark with the "Technicals" pack. I am having some fun painting those. At least now I have new colors in my paint set other than drag or earth.
Now that I have the Mujaheddin/Al Qaeda Pack, I want to start war gaming the Afghanistan war 1979 to 1989. Some Soviet/Russian up armored equipment would be nice. BMP-2D up armored would be nice. Also some of the Soviet/Russian engineering and support vehicles would be nice. Not only for war-gaming but for modeling dioramas.
Hopefully we can see some awesome equipment soon!
Just my two cents!

I thought I might add one more that may seem feasible for GHQ to add to their new release.
Since GHQ has sort of got real updated on various US Armour inventory by adding the MRAP Combat Team, M-ATV light armoured vehicle and the M1 Armoured Breeching Vehicle.
I was hoping for their Beyond April 2011 release, they would add for the Chinese PLA catalog, their new MBT which is the Type 99.
It is true that they have the Type 98 which was displayed in the Chinese Military Anniversary Parade not too long ago, but the Type 99 is a more advance version and it would be cool to see GHQ add to it.
Here a look at it..

I'll add my choices and reasons here as well:
1) Again...... Redo the current M-925 model so that it is a more accurate depiction . Make it a Bigfoot version so that it fits in with the Marines . Also, the M-198 is more likely to be towed by the Bigfoot version in both the Army and Marines than the old 10 wheel version. If we want a 10 wheel 5 ton truck, redo the model as the old M-54 . This truck has served from Korea up to current day(possibly in the Guard/Reserve) and certainly can be used in any Cold War,Desert Storm, Vietnam scenario.
2) OH-13 Sioux - This is a model that could be used for a Korean War up through Vietnam scenario. It could even be used in the Wehrmacht 47 line and certainly the India-Pakistan war. The potential for this little gem is endless, especially for the early Vietnam
scenarios as an air cav scout. (The Cayuse didn't come along til 66).
3) A-4 Skyhawk- Need something to go along with the Skyraider for the Vietnam scenarios. Also, it would be great for the 73 Yom Kippur war and even the Free Kuwaiti Air Force for Desert Storm. I would even recommend having the "hump" as a separate cast piece for the option for later versions .
4) Small Emplacement Excavator (SEE) - Now that we have a DEUCE , the SEE is needed as an integral element in US combat engineer formations for trenching and dirt moving . Used from ODS to now and still in use in A-stan and Iraq.
5) HAWK missile system. - This is a model that could be packaged like the SA-6 with a launcher ,illuminator and a early warning radar in one package . Used in all conflicts from early 60s to now.
6) Ground Mounted TOW tripod launchers- This could be like the individual heavy weapons pack with the launchers, gunners, observers etc. No vehicles.
7) The M102 105MM Howitzer. - Cant run a Grenada,Panama, ODS, late Vietnam scenario without it.
MiG -21 Fishbed - If there was a war going on between 1960 and now, you would see this thing flying for one of the participants.
9) D-8 Armored Dozer - can be used for any scenario where Engineers are present. Maybe include a supplemental pack with the Rome plows/armored cabs for Vietnam.
10) Redo the M-113A3. As I stated in an earlier post, the army never fielded the M-113A3 with the reactive armor. A few were built to test and demonstrate, and a few kits were made, but the thing died a miserable death in the early 90s. Lets redo that model, GHQ so that it refects the true M113A3 in service. Also, give us the 120mm mortar version, since the M-106 phased out 15 years ago .
Thats my top ten.

The Korean peninsula could be an area with major conflict in the coming decade. While the inventory of DPRK, PLA, US Marines are more or less covered by the Warsaw Pact, Red Chinese and the US catalog, the modern ROK and Japanese sides are two major areas missing from GHQ's list, making it almost impossible to setup an hypothetical scene for the region. So I would second what has been proposed by others on this aspect.
For Micronauts, here is my personal list:
PLAN:
Type 071 Landing Platform Dock
Type 051C (Luzhou Class)
Type 054A (Jiangkai-II Class)
JMSDF:
Atago class DDG
RN:
Type 45
Type 23
As GHQ said that it has been the market response which drives them into prioritizing on other product lines. The fact is that they'll never know what the market will response without having new products for many years. What is in their hand is perhaps the declining sales figures from old market saturated products and people would simply decide not to start or even stop collecting a series with no future expansion.
Having said the above, I'm still on the positive side in reading GHQ saying, 'This doesn't mean that no new releases will ever come." I hope next year modern micronauts finally get their turn to find new releases on the list -- at least to test out the water

My ideas; unlike my worthy predecessors I have little interest in moderns...
I support the M32 ARV; as I'm scratch building 5 of them I figure GHQ will release this as a model the year after I finish my project...
I ask again for an LVT4. Having the drop door allows transport of guns and jeeps. If I might suggest, put it in the UK line, maybe 3 to a pack, and include optional kits; Polsten gun and shielded .30 cals, twin shielded .50.s for the US configuration, drop ramps for duck boards (US marines from memory, crossing soft sand) or for carrying 17pdr AT guns. I already have a squadron of LVT4's from H&R... they look pretty good but I have to scratch build the Polsten.
A UK extras kit for the Churchill/AVRE; things like fascines, trailers to convert to crocodiles, maybe a bobbin or ARK kit. Heck, if they sell that stupid US mine roller that never worked, why not?
And more for the Brits; a command pack? Humber staff cars, 15cwt FFW and office body? 15cwt water carrier? Can't deny them their tea at 16:00!
I also second the comment on market returns for modern ships. Personally I have no interest, but I have a substantial 1:3000 scale navy from Navwar simply because I could get the ships I wanted. The 1:2400 scale line is still very limited, even between 2 decent manufacturers. I am only changing over to 1:2400 scale because Navwar became such a pain to buy from (unless you live in England). I do enjoy the greater detail, but I still have to be very selective of the forces I want to assemble. Any new product is a bit of a gamble.
I would say that while brand loyalty is understood, I don't see much value in asking GHQ to make something that is already available from another supplier (and are good models) especially aircraft. Ask for something we can't get yet. Guarantees a bigger sales run to recoup set up, rather than asking them to undermine an existing market.
(BTW, I was hugely surprised at how nice the Scotia L4 Grasshopper model is, once you add the wing struts and clean off the flash... and my squadron of B24's is from them as well... doubt GHQ will branch out that far!)
As an indicator, my current a/c projects are;
F6F Hellcat, British Pacific Fleet
F6F Nightfighter (with radar dome), BPF
Corsair, BPF
Seafire III, BPF
On order, TBF squadron, BPF
and about 4 other squadrons. All very nice models, GHQ don't make any of them. Ask for something new!
P
Edit: Also European style irregulars, not just guys in baggy pants and turbans or berets. Old suits, pants and shirts, even some women, armed with rifles, shotguns, SMG's. Usable as partisans from WW2 from France to Poland to Russia, usable in Lebanon, Georgia, Kosovo, even Baghdad. Not all irregulars are peasants. Of course that means they need to be the right scale...

I'll re-state the same list I've had for the last few years (one day I'll be right!) :
UK Bailey Bridge + Extensions (perhaps two packs - one with ends, a centre piece and pontoons and a second with extra centre pieces & pontoons)
UK WWII Engineers - laying mines/detecting/probing for mines, generic building poses, demolition etc
UK Bedford MWG 15cwt or similar with Lewis/Bren AA or Groundmount Bren/Lewis AA that could fit
UK Churchill Engineer Pack - Mine Plough A, Bobbin & Fascine
UK Lanchester 6*4 Armoured Car
UK Austin K2 Ambulance
UK Churchill Crocodile
[UK Matilda I] - 1 down anyway!
USA 90mm AA (deployed)
Russian Voroshilovets/Komintern fulltrack artillery tractors (2+3)
Love the idea of the British tea/command set - I'll buy that any day!

Well I’m about to commit heresy!
Truthfully I can’t think of too many vehicles that I need for my gaming.
I do want Infantry and More infantry!
I still want to see a pro western Bush Warriors.
I love the idea of Rhodesian Infantry
Still want to see US LRPS can be part of the Vietnam line. No real difference in uniforms and weapons all the way through the early 90’s.

WW2 English Bailey bridge pack (truck, trailer, sections of bridge, etc)
WW2 German pontoon bridge tank, based on a PzIV.
WW2 Russian pontoon bridge tank, based on KV or T-34
Search lights.
Railroad Materiel to be added to buildings line. For example a station, a warehouse, water tower, rail sections.
Train engine and wagons (flat cars, boxed cars). Maybe this would be too much complicated to realize and become profitale, too many engines and wagons to model for each different county. But maybe many collectors would like to have a mini pewter train.

Love the suggestions on bridging kit. A few pontoon bridges of various types would be quite welcome additions to my collection.
The trains are battery operated rather than electric track powered. Train kits come in complete "lines" of the various Japanese railroads -- bullet train sets, Tokyo commuter train sets, etc. Each set comes with track, train, and some structure or other (a bridge, a station building, a road crossing).
I have often thought that GHQ might have an interesting opportunity to bring together their micro armor and their model railroad lines, and to take a leadership role in building a new scale for the model railroad hobby, if they would start building tracks and accessories to fit their military models. They might even approach a major Japanese toy maker to form a marketing partnership, to open up retailing channels in Japan.
But I'd settle for pontoon bridges...
There is in fact a model train scale matched to micro armor. It is called ZZ scale. It is mostly considered a "toy" rather than "model" train scale, as ZZ scale equipment is only made by Japanese toy makers at this time.Luca wrote:Railroad Materiel to be added to buildings line.
