Sorry to interject,
But if anyone has any WW2 German 105 mm or 150 mm, or Russian 122mm or 152mm artillery they would like to get rid of I have 21 Tiger 1's to trade (or for the right deal some TM buildings or for an even better deal a Girlfriend, a Job, a mortgage and some odds and ends like pets!).

Notice: Girlfriend comes capitalized because it will cost you more than your whole GHQ collection (transfer not to my account but hers!). No purchase necessary but you better be willing to give if you do!

Aaaaaaahh!!!

No. Say it isn't so! Not here. Not in our little fora. Does the reach of Sparky's insanity know no bounds?!?!

Perhaps you know not the storm you have invited down upon our heads...tanitatt wrote:wow ... tough crowd.
Mike Sparks (aka: Sparky) is the individual who has been banned from more online military and history discussion fora than any other internaught.
In his wild imaginings he has named the M113, which he considers to be the greatest armored vehicle of all time, after the General who led the US 82nd Airborne in the later half of WW2. He has authored 5 websites (all with some variation of milresearch in their names), 4 of which are to promote the M113 as the world's greatest armored vehicle, or to curse the USMC and all of its dedicated and professional warriors as a waste and a threat to US security, or to slam the LAV and Stryker as "death trucks". (The 5th site is to research alien brain control beams, or some such...

Any googling of the good General's name is likely to turn up dozens of pages of Sparky's rants, while any googling of Sparky's name will turn up dozens of pages of posts on other fora tracing the distasteful task of cleansing that their membership and moderators have had to go through to be rid of him.
Any board that uses his special moniker, the Gav ** CENSORED **, is subject to be found when Sparky's next manic mood drives him to another google-fest. When he is "summoned" to a web forum by the members, he quickly registers under multiple names, and starts a dialog between he, himself, and him, that runs most of the other discussions, and many of the members, off of the board. He uses the foulest language, caps, bolds, and colors, to shout down any dissent to his multi-page diatribes on the glory of SuperGav ** CENSORED ** US Airborne lighttanks, and amphibious or submersible SuperGav ** CENSORED ** 's armed with stacks of 106mm recoilless rifles. He researches the outside activities of anyone who dares oppose him, and begins contacting them off-board with emails and PMs cursing and threatening them.
The US Army has never called the M113 anything other than the M113. Ask a vet, and the only name they may come up with other than '113 is likely to be "track", or a "rolling refridgerator", or "purple heart box", or "slab-sided taxi" or some other colorful localization. Unless you find the rare PFC who has been trained by "The Military Channel", which has occasionally been sucked in to Sparky's insanity when their research has gone only so far as first level googling.
You would be better to taunt Cthulu than to summon Sparky through using his magic name for M113 (the "track that must not be named").
