Hull Boxes and Armor Calculations for Micronauts- The Game

Post by ftm2kleszics »

Request Mr. Jensen (aka love4ships) contact me please. In Micronauts- The Game, the writers state the formula for figuring out hull boxes is included. Unfortunately it is not. Also, request information on how armor values are made (type 0 to 5). In addition, I have made up spotting counters that I feel would help other Micronaut players. I will make these available to GHQ if it will help. May come in handy for WWI naval gaming.
P.S.- Is there a way I can upload these spotting counters to you? I see no upload link on this site. Thank you for your time Mr. Jensen. Pete K.

WWI, formulas, and spotting dingus's

Post by nuts4ships »

Pete,

Firstly, My father was Mr. Jensen, call me Russ. Second, It's nuts4ships not love4ships, and thirdly, it's about darn time I found my login and password. I switched computers a while back and couldn't remember what I used. The formulas refered to in the rules were in Appendix B, which ended up on the editing room floor (the floor in question is not owned by either author by the way).

I shot you a PM.

We'll talk,

Oh good! An Authority to whom I can pose the questions I posted on the GHQ Facebook page a while back:

Some strange numbers here! Why does the Lorraine, with 11" of WW1 standard belt armour, rate a "5" for belt while the King George V, with 15" of the improved WW2 British armour (about 20% better) only rate a "4" for belt armour?

Similarly, why does the Hood rate a "1" for deck armour, while the R class rates a "2"? In actuality, the Hood had 3" of main deck armour (versus 2" for the R class) and 2" of upper deck armour (versus 1.5" for the R class).

This one I'll have to go back and check if there is some that made us list this in that way, or did we srcew up, Please stand by.

If I recall correctly, in researching the Hood's armor the 3" section of deck armor was a pretty short section, and the other sections and levels of armored deck did not add up enough to 'qualify' for the armor level 2. That and to create a 'historical result' of the 'ood, it needed to have deck armor of level 1

Guess I'm not smarter the these darn quote thingys.
