Just the tray?

Post by rommel58 »

Does anyone know if you can buy just the micro-skirmish boards and not the hexes.
And if so, how much would it cost?
Thanks, Rommel 58

And I'd like to know how you put two or more together. There will be two borders on the "flat" side and the other sides are jagged. Not that I'm buying any. I made my own 4' X 3' plywood board with 5/8" border.

Here's a view of the entire "box" with a rather unimaginative setup--I've improved both hexes and roads since:

Here's a closeup of a corner:

I used a reasonably good grade of 3/4" plywood to avoid warping. Painted dull green--same green I use on my hexes! Painted thin, flat trim the same and nailgunned to edge. Heavy but manageable. Be sure to lay out hexes before cutting board!

See what I mean about "jagged edges." At the top and bottom of the upper photo one can see that placing another board against it would leave gaps in addition to the thin border.
