Don,
sorry if I missed it in an earlier post but do you have the whole list published somewhere on a website?
I attempted to do something similar for WWII micorarmour but I posted the list I'd compiled in the forum itself and I see that getting impractical, quickly.

I haven't published the entire list since it went over 200 ships (some time in early 2008). With the total number of individual items approaching 1000, it's just too long to put the whole thing on the forum. I truncate the posted list after the smallest number of votes that produces 100 or more items.

If anyone is interested in a copy of the entire list or the status of individual ships that don't show up in the posted list, send me a PM and I'll gladly provide you the information.

Does anyone know if either USN-37 Liberty Ship or USN-81 APA Montrose can be built without their loads, tanks / trucks and LCVP's respectively? As I look at Jane's they look like a close enough stand-in for AE's, AF's and AKS'. Also AD's 16, 20 and 21are similar. Obviously USN-36 Neosho gives me some oilers to complete my replenishment force. I realize that during WWII replenishment was more of a "stop at Ulithi and pick up supplies" kind of an affair and not the true transfer-at-sea it will become but the ships still needed to transit the Pacific and bring the supplies so they'll be modeled as well. Otherwise I'll add AE's, AF's and AKS' to the list!

And, yes, this would appeal strictly to modelers and not gamers I know so will fall to the very bottom of the Wants List but hey I have to "Run it up the flagpole" and see if anyone salutes.

USN37, Liberty ship, is modelled with clear decks. A separate molding stick has ten tanks and ten trucks that can be used or not, as you please.

USN81, APA Montrose has eight LCVPs molded onto the hull, four on each side. Most of the LCVPs, however, are separate moldings. This is not a major problem if you want to use this as an AD, AR, or AK; as these often used LCVPs as tenders. A greater problem is that the hull and superstructure also carry the additional anti-aircraft guns of an amphibious assault ship that would not be found on a civil ship or military auxiliary not expected to serve in the front line. Note that the ammunition ships of this time were all smaller than the Liberty ships and APAs. The idea was to limit the damage in case of catastrophy.

In terms of US auxiliaries on the wish list now, Hog Island type A has 16 votes, there are 8 votes for Vestal (AR-4), 6 votes for C3 type, 5 votes for Hog Island type B, and three votes for C1, C2, and West* type.

Don,

Thanks for maintaining the lists and providing the "a n a l y s i s"! I know for me, and I suspect for others, when you are not seeing the item(s) you are looking for chosen it doesn't feel like anything is happening! While not a lot of items your "a n a l y s i s" does show that ships are being done. And I do feel for those trying to do Post Cold War because they really aren't seeing anything done.

GHQ, it's not my interest area but but how about one Post Cold War model this casting year!! Give the Modern modelers a victory See how much I mean it not one of my choices will be in this post.

This whole censoring thing is obviously designed to drive me up the wall!!
