This is a definite need item for many of us:

WWII aircraft carrier deck decals

After that, I am looking mostly for modern ships.

China : Type 052D DDG Type 41 Yuan submarine

Japan: new Akizuki class DDG

South Korea: KDX-II DDG (the largest class of KDX ships....and the Arleigh Burke can stand in for KDX-III for now)....also the KDX-I and KDX-III are Shapeways models already, as a re quite a few other S.Korean ships.

Russia: Admiral Grigorovich....which could also stand in as an Indian Talwar class....maybe the kit could allow both versions to be built?? As for the Gorshkov...the Superior model is very nice. If it were to be modeled as the new Indian carrier instead of Gorshkov, then I am on board! Note that the Indian navy ships are available on Shapeways now...

Cold War US guided missile destroyers Kidd class (Now Taiwan Kee Lung Class) I agree with this choice too, if the model could be made to represent either the US or Taiwanese ship.

North Korea: I would love to see a pack containing numerous small Korean infiltration and missile craft...also some of their tiny subs.....and perhaps a model of their larger frigate (as pathetic as it is). Many of these small boats and subs are also used by Iran.

While many of us are asking for WWII Carrier Deck Decals, are we looking for a set for each specific carrier for all of the US carriers prior to the E.S.S.E.X class? The reason I ask is that while I do not know about the aforementioned class of ships the earlier classes all had letter abbreviations rather than numbers on the flight deck as identifiers. And while I have not gotten to carriers yet, once the last of the cruisers and destroyers is complete I will work on the carriers and battleships, I think you would almost need a separate decal set for each of the carriers from Lexington through Hornet. As I say I do not know the next class but I believe they used numbers by then so maybe GHQ could produce both an early- and a stretched-phase set? And forgive my ignorance but the non-US Navy modelers can speak up for what your requirements would be.

Donald, Ex-NavyGuy and the rest feel free to point out where I went astray! I am not finished with my almost eighty (small by all of your standards I know!) cruisers and destroyers but then I will focus on the big ships and start to learn what is out there to model them. I doubt I will ever get past 1943 though. The early, desperate period is of more interest to me.

With the wealth of knowledge out here we can help GHQ with some completed research to help them in their efforts. Someplace to focus on for the quickest ROI to kick this off? Just a thought...

For the WWII deck decals, I would like to see sets of matched pairs or matched quads....something like one or two Japanese carrier decks with one or two American carrier decks. Two British carrier decks with the Graf Zeppelin and Aquila, and so on.

Hi
I would like to add two items to the Micronaught wishlist.
I don't know if you track the Age of Sail series with your list but I'll submit them anyway.

1. Brass etched ratlines for 1/1200 Napoleonic series. This is likely several items if not many depending on the size of the various models but if they could be 'generic' I would vote for 3rd rate, 5th rate, and 1st rate sets in that order.
- Ease of application
- Can you outdo the competion in this scale?

2. An Ardent (64) razee class model (i.e HMS indefatigable) .
- Famous ship (historically and fictional)
- 3 of class, +3 74's razeed prior to 1815.

Thanks
Leif
