Would I be out of line asking/voting for the IJN A-150 Super Yamato? I just finished putting together my Montana and she needs something to fight before she finds a wrecking ball and starts twerking on it. Trying to avoid a disaster here.

There's always the German H-39 or even the British Lion (WWII BB not WWI BC), both already in the inventory.PostHumanRepublican wrote:Would I be out of line asking/voting for the IJN A-150 Super Yamato? I will get both of those eventually but neither of them fit well with my Japanese fleet being that neither are Japanese. In reality, I just need the twin barrel 20.1" turrets. I can model the rest.

True, neither is Japanese. But using the same rationale that led the Japanese to purchase
a Tiger tank they never actually received, you could use the H-39 as an 'allied' vessel.
Add a small German group, Cruiser, a few Destroyers and voila. It would at least give you
something closer to Montana's tech level that you can put on the table now.
As far as the twin 20.1" turrets go, you can use the existing Yamato/Musashi turrets file off the gunbarrels and fit appropriately sized brass rods for the new barrels. Use a hollow
tube for the base section of the barrel and then a solid rod to form the rest of the barrel and
there you have the two piece barrel assembly.

I thought about dinking around with brass rods but I've never attempted it. That aside, the most important thing about the turrets is that they have an awesome turtle shell-ish look to them. There is an A-150 on shapeways but it is in 1/1800 scale and I'm thinking those will be way way too huge but I may end up trying it anyway. If they do end up being massive then I can always file them down to the right size and then use your brass rod idea. The shell is what I'm concerned about. Actually that sounds like a fun project...

I would like to point out that the A-150 design was not just a Yamato with the triple 18-inch turrets replaced by twin 20-inch turrets. Although the design was never finalized, it is fairly certain that the anti-aircraft armament would be significantly different from that of Yamato, evan as modified in 1944.

Yep I looked into that. Models of the ship have a whole boatload (pun?) of larger caliber guns on either side of the stack. I wanted to model the ship as close to that as possible. I have so many spare twin 5" turrets it's not even funny.

A-150
PostHuman,
I do not think it is out of line to ask for the A-150, GHQ as mentioned has already done the Montanas, H-39 and the British Lions, with that said I would love to see the post war or planeed ships like the A-150, B-64 Battlecruisers for Japan, some others like the American Heavy cruisersDesMoines, Oregon City, Light cruisers Fargo & Worchester.
The Germans had planned P & O classes as well. I would also Think that the Soviet BBs might be an interesting add to the mix.

WWI Subs
I was sitting here wondering why GHQ hasn't produced any subs for the WWI line. I think some subs in their infancy would be kinda neat and maybe some merchants or the Lusitania to go with them. They were certainly controversial back then.
