On Timbuktou jumped the 2e company alone. It was the firts combat jump since Kolwezi in 1978 where jumped the whole regiment.

A Regiment in the French army is like a battalion of other counries. It is composed by a HQ company, 4 rifle companies and 1 support company.

Any ideas for the turrets on the VAB 4x4?

The VAB has various turrets.
Do you mean the 12,7 mm one, as here?

Yes I found the Serval Operation very interesting.

VAB armament:
The basic (older) 4x4 VAB VTT (troop transport) (GHQ's N112) should have a 12.7mm HMG or a 7.62 MMG w/ only a partial gun shield protecting the operator as seen here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Frenc ... Sirobi.jpg

On a more recent (2009+) variant known as the VAB TOP, one sees them upgraded with a Remote Controlled 12.7mm HMG. seen here:

GHQ's N108 pack contains the 6x6 VAB VCI or more fully VAB VCI T.20/13 which features a 20mm auto cannon for infantry support and or a light AA role.

About VAB and the 20mm there is only VAB 4X4 in the french army,
6x6 is always an export version.

The gun is a 7.62 on the GHQ set nowand not a 12.7

Yes, I did mean the one pictured with the HMG turret on hatch next to driver.

BTW: I have GHQ VAB 4x4 with 20mm gun, Red Lief has one as well. Red Lief also has some other modified VABs,

I have kit-bashed some to make command, communication, along with the VAB 4x4 20mm. Let me know if you want any by PM. Also VBL with weapon stations.

I just have to laugh because they look so much better than the 15mm by Battlefront. Great job on both the molds and the paint work.
