In researching the "Hog Island" Type A (Design 1022) which the forum has referenced 98 ships built I came across the following:
Under usmm.org there is a list by name of 122 Hog Island ships built with 110 Type A and 12 type B troop transports.
Under shipscribe.com there is two lists and text with 110 Type A built and no cancellations plus 12 Type B troop transports built out of a total contract of 70 vessels with 58 cancelled.
Under globalsecurity.org there is text that states 110 Type A were built and 12 Type B troop transports at 8,400 tons and 12 Type B troop transports at 13,400 tons but only list 12 Type B troop transports by name.
It appears that 110 Type A were built and 12 Type B for a total built of 122. Any thoughts.

I see your example under the globalsecutity.org site on the Type B section (12 at 8,400 tons and 12 at 13,400 tons) however the list only has twelve ships, as does the Type B list in the usmm.org site and shipscribe.com site and all three sites have 110 completed for the Type A ships. Below are the 12 on the list, do you know the names of the other 12 Type B ships?

After further checking I have found the complete list of the Hog Islander planned and built
http://www.shipbuildinghistory.com/hist ... e/aisc.htm
This confirm your data: only 12 Type B were built.
I suppose that he mistake is due to the tonnage. The two values are not of different ships but simly empty and full load. This seems evident looking at USS Samaritan (a type B)
