Wow that's an amazing building.

Even more so as it is you first scratch build piece. What a piece to start with! :D

BTW Timecast used to sell the smaller buildings separate, but I'm not sure if they still do.

I tried out resin casting this past year - it has worked out great. Especially with houses and other structures. I highly recommend it for what you're doing. It is easy to do as well. And i have been able to modify the castings so they are not "cookie cutter" by adding ir removing various bits.

Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff!! Great job on the grain elevator!!

cama wrote:TC still have the other buildings, but I am going to scratch build everything myself. The £ is too expensive, and on top of that Royal Post is about double what one might expect to pay in shipping. It's just unfathomable. Way out of my price range!
I live in New Zealand so everything is expensive to post here, so I'm used to it!

Still it is good you are going to make the others

cama,

Amazing work! Is this going to be a center piece or some kind of objective for a larger city? Or perhaps a rebuild of Stalingrad? Or Camagrad? Really looking forward to seeing what will be built around your masterpiece.

I hear that Balzac Defense Force has a high priority to destroy the Camagrad Grain Elevator located in the heart of Camastan. Their Ro/Ro is hiding in port (excuse me docked for repairs) because of the Sub from Camastan and the news/traffic/forward observation helo.

Brilliant work and very inspiring. Always nice to see a big project come out so well.
I always fancied the TC one from the photos but knew I was unlikely to ever buy one.
Enjoy.

I'm sure I'll get to see it in Camagrad one day in the near future, cheers mate.

Remember cama, "professional" does not mean someone is better than you ... it just means they managed to convince someone to pay them for what they do :)

HI Everyone,

Found a hardcopy of the building that I based my "Appartment Block" on. And since Burfwolf asked what I based it off I thought I would post a copy. Still cannot remember in what city this was taken.

Cama,

So I spent a few days over break building a junior version of your grain elevator (pics to be posted soon). Your project was so cool and inspired me to take a swing it. It went fairly well but it is about an eighth of the size of yours. It does have a removable roof!!!!!

Before I hit the final lap on this, I wanted to get your painting advice. How did you paint it? Specifically how did you weather your concrete?

Thanks!!!

Cama, I did a simple version of your wonderful project and though I hate the paint job (I don't use an airbrush) I have done thus far it is still a cool little piece. I havent finished the rail line yet ... but I present to you junior stalingrad with removable roof:

On page 4 is the Junior Stalingrad Grain elevator. Will have to post some pics of Cama's build of the Grain Elevator.
