Well, since you asked...

I've never been a fan of hex shaped bases. Unless you use a hexed mat, it just conjures board games to my eye and is "disruptive."

But hey, your toys, your rules.

Lol.... that's one reason I kinda like it since it does remind of board games.
I like the fact that they are tall easy to hold for gaming and thick enough to mark the base. Have not decided what marking yet.

Down side is it is tall so looks funny on a game table.
More expensive then the penny I been using.
Or even the nickel I use for light art.

I'll order some large enough for a tank and see how they work out.

I've got a fair few of those bases for my Heavy Gear miniatures I'm still painting. I like them well enough for that but I think IF I use any bases for my tanks it'll just be plasticard. Simple and thin to be less obtrusive with such small figures. Just my two cents. :D

Nashorn: If you;re in the US send me your address. I'm sure I have one or two floating about you could have to try out before buying a box full.

Well those are finely painted & detailed so I can't get too worked up about them, however invisible is my dream base but I'll settle for transparent.
