I been only using the Tamiya brand paints. Use alcohol to thin.paul wrote:I like the look. My wife got me an airbrush but the paint keeps clogging it so I'm not sure what I need to do. I have added water to mix it to 40% water to 60% paint but that still seems to be too think.
One thing I do is mix it very thin. Make sure it's mix well.
You will need to play with it a bit.
Sometimes it's so thin it need a second coat but that how all the ghq detail will stand out.
I spray a base coat. No primer coat.
Then camo coat. After a few hours or a day.
I ink the model. I just use floor wax with some acrylic black paint.
Then maybe dry brush.
Models comes out really nice. The ink is amazing with the model but not so much on other brands.
Hope that helps
Btw: what brand of air brush do u have?

Hey Nash,
I have a Paasche and a couple of others but cannot remember which ones at the moment. Your paint seems so smooth compared to a brush paint job. I have gotten the airbrush to work in the past but do not remember what I did. I use Vallejo now and Testors before. I will see about doing 60% water and 40% paint.
Regards,
Paul

Yea I don't have the skills to do a decent job with paint brushes . You have some nice airbrush so just play with it. My paint after it's mix flows like water.
