The Commonwealth appreciates 'gator' humor. Appreciate it more than you know. The absentee votes were counted... those that left the Azores (azoresdom) and the Canary Islands, that were entitled to votes with citizenship. 98% voted in favor of membership in the Commonwealth. That is telling, inquiries to the State Dept from these citizens and others that left all expressed desire to return. They are welcome.
.
Alarm from the Eastern Med from the Country of Tripoli, with activation and full 'call up' of reserves and guard personnel. There has not been any communication if it is response to Al-Kabab or if this has been influenced by another issue or a drill.
.
Chaikovia has expressed their intent to be diligent in their awareness and search for the pirates of Al-Kabab.
.
There ways a ceremony commemorating the Allied victory over the Africa Korps in Tunis, Tunisia in 1943. Simultaneous celebrations in Algiers, Casablanca, among others.

A NINETY-EIGHT PERCENT vote "for" appears to me to be either a rigged vote or the populace could smell which way the wind was blowing and voted for continuing to breathe that wind, no matter how it smelled.

The Communication Director of the Azores, Jaquez Perez, announced the results of those absentee ballots with a 98% in favor said, "we are surprised by the Gator State thinking that their citizens did not want the to join the Commonwealth. No wonder why they live here the majority of the time." When questioned what he meant by that, he replied, "you may interpret that any way you wish. The citizens of the Azores are delighted to become a member of the Commonwealth, apparently includes those that have joint citizenship with GS. We expect an increase in tourism, investment, and finance among others." He added "the leadership of the Canary Islands can respond to any questions about the results of the open ballot. WE are all excited."
.
Asst Director of Policy in the State Department, Smithett, said, "If the Gator State wishes to become involved in the affairs of another country, of course to help the people of the country, they should become involved hindering the pirates of Kabab or the fighting in Yer Bouti. There is civil unrest. Another issue is the call up the military reserves and guard of Tripoli. They also cancelled at leaves of all military personnel. Not alot of information coming out of Tripoli. Nor any information from the Vatican, which has significant influence upon Tripoli. There are many ways that Gator State could become involved as a positive member of the global community."
.
The Illustrious task force, Named e-Med Aid, has passed Sicily, It is announce that several ships with have following the military task force. The MV Dennys, MV Sonic, and MV Outback are loaded with humanitarian supplies heading east. These ships are expected to be 30-36 hours behind the Illustrious TF,

There are no citizens of the Gator State in the Azores. Dual citizenship is not permitted. GS citizens evacuated prior to the plebiscite and ALL were accounted for. Humanitarian efforts by GS are closed and, knowing that CoC will take care of things from now on, they will not be re-opened.

Communication with NATO

Post by chrisswim »

Transmit all info to NATO and include all public info info on commercial shipping radio channels. Keep the military operations confidential, Kabab is sure to monitor the radio waves. If it is them, they will know that they have been spotted. Have all electronic survellance on to ascertain if there is any command and control, and if so its location.
.
All 'A-teams' are armed and ready, some on the helos, on the deck ready to lift. Corpsmen have been deployed with the assault teams.

The area in the Med with the boats were pursuing the cargo vessel. A larger search area was created and no other threats besides the 2 larger yachts and 3 smaller boats. Harrier fly-by a few times, 550-575 knots 30 feet above sea level to get the attention of the pirates. The Kabab pirates continued in direction of the freighter. The Tiger helos closed distance to the Kababs boats..... A SAM missile was fired, Tigers flew to the deck, flares being released. 2 more SAM from different boats were fired. One Tiger was hit. NH-90 went into action in SAR mode. The Harriers, took two strafing runs with 70mm hydra rockets and m.g. fire. hitting 3 vessels, one of which was a yacht, believed to have been hijacked. The yacht that was hit received m.g. fire. The whereabouts of the owners is unknown. Video recording of the boats will be ** CENSORED ** back upon the Illustrious.
.
The Tigers fired several laser targeted Euro Spike ATGM missiles at what was identified as the smaller boats. Hits on all three are reported to have occured. The remaining two large yachts turned south toward the African coast. One did stop dead in the water about 10 NM from the engagement area. There was not any further fire from either yacht nor where they fired upon.
.
One Tiger crew has died, the weapons officer was KIA, the pilot is wounded having been rescued. En-route to the Illustrious, ETA 15 minutes.

All other CCDF members of the search, assault and rescue team returned safely.
We were able to retrieve 3 terrorist floating in the Med, 2 teenage boys and an adult. They came out initially from the beach in Libya. Other came from the port of Tripoli, Libya. Information is of minor significance.
.
In light of the statement by the Country of Tipoli and the potential chemical weapon use by Syria the Task Force Safe Med is changing the course from off the coast of Tripoli to patrol near the Greek and Chaikovian Islands in the Eastern Med. There have been some claims by fishing trawlers from the Commonwealth that they have been hassled by Greek and Chaikovian patrol vessels for fishing within 20 NM of the shoreline. The UIN recgonizes a 12 nautical mile protection zone as does the Commonwealth.
.
A tanker re-fueled the Illustrious, combat capable ship of the task Force.
.
We are unable to help in Tat Twin, or whatever the new and unacceptable name is, in their difficult situation. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to the people of that region that have to deal with those thugs. To the BALZAC Republic, if you need any extensive medical help or logistic assistance, please let us know. We will extend the cruise area of a few of our ships and submarines further south along the African coastline. To include a cruiser Kassering Pass and Visby 5.

Chrisdom has been a good source of military surplus, and his trade is appreciated. We must, however, view his motives with solid skepticism and caution. Acquisitions must be thoroughly scanned for embedded locator chips and other devices that might be used in Chrisdom's advantage.
This is to be expected from the Gator State. We do not set up anything of the sort. We do not want to fight (we will war game). When the Mederia Island group did not wish to become members of the Commonwealth, it is acceptable. They are welcome to self governance. You, the GS, must have the 'little green men' and 'drones' to research and scout territory.

Our task force has docked in Chaikovia, and discussing the harassment of fishing trawlers. They have made it know 12 NM is the fishing zone they enforce. They have pointed out that they believe that it is Greece patrol craft that has intercepted outside the Chaikovian 12 NM zone, but inside 20 NM. The belief is to cause discord. It may even be just 1 captain of that patrol vessel.
.
The CCNS Invincible is planning to dry dock soon, for some maintenance and upgrades. Expect a two week dry dock. She is the sister to the Illustrious.

Gitmo, Cuba - Joint Task Force Visit

Post by chrisswim »

The Commonwealth of Chrisdom has sent a small naval task force to Cuantanamo Bay, Cuba, referred to Gitmo hereafter. Have sent a destroyer, (Burke Class), two Visby class vessels, an LST (New Port Class) along with a tanker as a task force to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba for a joint operations and training exercise. Although the LST had to return to Casablanca Naval Station for repair on an engine, as it was about 1000 miles out from the Azores chain, which is a recent member in the Commonwealth. It did have reduced speed and was greeted by an ocean tug out of Casablanca for the assistance to return.
... The task force did arrive at Gitmo, being careful to stay within the boundaries of the open channel and to avoid the Cuban territorial waters. The purpose is to conduct joint operations in the Caribbean, including some relief effort of the storm that hit Trinidad and Tobago a few days ago. This is a new joint force mission. After arriving in port, escorted by the Marines. The tanker proceeded to the dock to take on more fuel. The other ships docked having been recently refueled at sea. The Assault Tanker, named CCSS Manager, left port 0500 with 1 Visby, a British Type 23 frigate, along with 2 other frigates, from France and the Netherlands, respectfully. A day of planning, control procedures, along with distribution of medical supplies that were flown in on several C-130 and C-17 from NAS Jacksonville and NAS Norfolk. Several other ships are expected in the coming week or two from some other nations within NATO.
.
Cuba is sending a ship down to Trinidad, which left 5 hours ago out of Havana, which is on the other end of the island on the north side. 2 Mexican naval communication ** CENSORED ** were on-boarded for communication with the NATO task force. Everyone is aware of the need for working together with the Cubans in the relief effort. It is expected that transmissions will be evaluated by the Cuban Russian Class frigate, now named CNS Havana. The purpose of the two Mexican Como-Splt is to simiply the Cuban communication protocol with the NATO partners. Raul Castro came out in a positive speach for the aid to the Trinidad people. The USA was not mentioned in the speech nor that the European ships would be utilizing Gitmo as their primary base for operations in the area. USCG Ridley is serving as sea going patrol south of Gitmo.

The task force departed Gitmo, after picking up some of the supplies flown in to Gitmo. The second Visby Class vessels left shortly after the tanker CCSS Manager, to catch up. Of course the task force is without the CCSS Newport. The storm has cause significant damage to homes and along the coast line. There are 12 confirmed dead from the storm, the rain & mudslides. Some supplies were air lifted from the airport at Gitmo and were given permission to fly through Cuban airspace on the flight out.
.
As crewmen of the task force were given some time for them selves, some were able to go fishing. One small recreation boat was taken down the small river toward Cuba, fisihing for Snook, Jack, Tuna. Several of the men went swimming and made shore, only 5 meters away. Upon the return swim to the boat, a Bull shark attacked one man. He was the last man to attempt to return to the boat. Two guys had continued to fish with bait. The sailor was then attacked by two other Bull Sharks. He was alive for about 5 minutes. Medical personal were sent to try to find him but arrived at the dock area near the airport, Leeward. The man died prior to arrival in the area.
.
A Panther helo from Visby 6 reported the sighting of the Cuban frigate CNS Havana approaching Trinidad. Also reporting rocks on the beach with the words 'HELP' and 'SOS'. The Cuban had launched their two helos taking in water, food and some medical supplies. The Cubans airlifted a few civilians to the frigate since they needed some medical attention.
.
Exploration in Algeria continues with some great success. Some area are not showing the potential for petrol or other natural resources. As rumors have spread, some bandit bands have crossed into Algeria from Lybia robbing some local towns. Stealing and having killed a reported 5 people along with rape and hostage taking.
.
The task force visiting Chaikovia has left the base there and touring the eastern Med, approaching Tripoli.

How do you determine what happens to your imaginations?

Post by madman »

OK I have no problems with the idea of imaginations. As a gamer being able to create a complete military structure for a mythical country has great appeal. I am a big fan of the old Striker rules which costed out (or allowed you to cost out) everything so this was possible at any scale up to small countries.

I also have no problem using this info to create scenarios and campaigns for games.

What I don't understand is how you guys are generating your 'histories' for non game imaginations.

Do you get together (email skype, etc.) and discuss operations, outside world events, how various factions, leaders, etc. would behave in your 'nations and mutually come up with these scenarios? Do you just individually wing it, make declarations then post and let the other guys respond (unlikely as based on past posts there seems to be some co-ordination going on here). Do you have a referee or other neutral third party whom you pass your events on to who then determines the effects and results which you then post. Or what?

I like what you are doing and many of the details are very good and deep not too off the cuff but seemingly well thought out for effect and counter effect plus a nice input of random events. Also when you have done your joint military exercises are you shipping minis around, does the "hosting" nation duplicate models of the foreign forces involved, have a physical meeting or do a lot of photoshopping?

I like what you are achieving and would like to do something similar but with a couple local guys who would like to game out the resultant scenarios.

Curious. Thank you.

Stephen

I like the imaginations because they keep the forum going when discussions about the product or other aspects of the hobby get kind of slow. I don't game, so a gaming scenario isn't for me.

****The background of the countries? We make it up. I have communicated with a couple of other people by PM, email and.or phone. Usually, just some quick info or idea exchange, but since I first posted 1-1-16 as the Commonwealth of Chrisdom, probably only a dozen messages out, a dozen in, which might include some other topic.(wamting a particular new vehicle to be produced, i.e. want some old style M551) or have a question. There is not a GM. Many of the guys that have posted on the I-magi-Nation started prior to me. I thought about what I wanted to do and then the Commonwealth came to me(I receive a weekly e-mail titled: The Defense of the Realm). I sometimes need to refer back to my previous posts for consistency, as I did prior to the last post. or to continue on with a story-line. I try to be accurate or reasonable, I usually use in my story what I have in 1/285, 6mm, 1/300, 1/350, 1/400, etc. I post some pics on Facebook: Chris's Micro Armor and on 1/285 Scale Miniatures and War Game.
I hope that I have done a good job of that, the reader is the judge of that.****
.
The relief effort is underway in Trinidad, off loading supplies by LCM and helicopter. The US Navy LCAC (GHQ Modern Combat Command LCAC Assault Team, N159) are really doing well going through the surf and onto shore with vehicles and equipment. They are faster than our LCM. The Commonwealth will have to think about a purchase for assault ships. This would complement the enclosed LCAC such as the AIST and Zubr which have recently been delivered. That provides an operational capability in the eastern Med that we have not had before, especially the Zubr. The Chinese utilize this capability in the South & East China Sea zone with their new military islands.
.
All nations are working together bring in relief supplies and taking those that need advanced medical help to the US LHD. There is coordination of communication and deployment based upon the US Vice-Admiral, Scott Delaney. Since the Commonwealth is a member of NATO, "this has been a tremendous benefit to work with the Americans, the Brits, Frenc", said Cmdr Vaslow from the CCSS FFG Burlington. "it has also been a blessing to see the team work of the Cuban crew in the relief effort. the Ka-52 is an interesting helo being able to see it operate picking up supplies from my type 23 FFG."
.
Flights continue to fly into Gitmo and south to airports that are open in Trinidad with relief supplies as well. Some non-citizens of Trinidad wishing to leave are flown on return flight to Gitmo with expectation that they will return to their home country or Trinidad in the coming weeks. Those that need advanced care and therapy are able to receive that at the Hospital at Guantanamo Bay.
.
In the eastern Med, the task force now identified as TF Baker, approaching the Country of Tripoli. We are accompanied by a Gearing FRAM DD from Chiakovia. Of not is how quiet Tripoli is currently, only commercial TV and radio broadcasts. Very little real new of events in country and Syria. CaptnChuck has not be seen in public in several weeks, although he has been seen in the capital.
.
Another fishing trawler was temporarily detained by a Greek patrol boat. Greece has 4 Zubr LCAC and two are functioning currently. The Greek Navy are working on the other two having ordered parts from Russia.

. The LST Newport is concluding it repair, The matenance crews have been working around the clock to diagnose, plan and repair the engine operation. It is almosted concluded.
. Report from BS News - Italy, a small group of yachts has been attacked with one boat and the people on the boat captured. It appears that the group of Al-Kabob is headed south towards Lybia. Reports indicate that another yacht either burned to the water level or did catch fire during a brief fire fight. No news on those on that particular yacht at this time.
