Panzer,

So, I did a little digging and this is what I found.

The following web site talks about the marine assault into Kuwait.

http://www.historynet.com/persian-gulf- ... ssault.htm

In this article they state that the second division/B company/4th tank battalion out of Yakima, Washington was the first marines to get the M1A1s. In all they had 14. The second division was also reinforced with the army's first brigade (tiger brigade) that had M1A1s and Bradley's. when full assembled, this article stated that the division had 257 tanks, which included a 185 Abrams, with 170 being from the army's tiger brigade. It further stated that First division had 123 M-60A1 tanks.

I also found this site that talks about the marines in kuwait.

This information is supported by this site, which is from the Naval Instatute.

This is all I could find without resulting to Wikipedia. LOL. Based on what I read, there were only a handful of Marine M1s used due to the fact that they were just starting to train in these vehicles. The bulk of the marines were using M-60A1s and a few were using the M-60A3s.
Quantity has a Quality all its own.
