November is paint a GHQ Helicopter Month.
Did you know that November is "Paint a GHQ Helicopter Month?"
Neither did I but I heard a Russian paid tweet mentioned a facebook mini group say it was on CNN, so it must be true.
So paint up a fine GHQ produced Helicopter in your finest colours.
Buy a new one or make a dent in the pewter mountain you already have. Strip and repaint an old one.
It could be a civil one if you wish, Ginger the traffic reporter could do with a nice new platform or go overboard with a multi coloured military camo scheme.
Historical or Imaginary, it does not matter just paint one, you have four weeks so even I have no excuse.
If you can not paint!.... One colour spray can paint jobs will receive extra points for humorous captions or dioramas.
1/2400 scale entrants will receive both my respect and pity.
If you can not post a photo no worries, please just post a 1000 word colourfull description of your finished article.
Best of luck.

Nice one, thank you to the People's Republic of G. Setting a very high standard right out of the gate.
My contribution (when I work out what it will be) will not be to such a good level, a painter I have never claimed to be.
Just remember folks this is about participation not perfection, do not hold back, just get it out there.
An extra image other than what we see in the catalog may be just what someone is looking for.

From my large collection of badly painted heli's I have picked two for a rework.

Two AS352 Cougars.
One with a cut down cabin which had several coats of paint was my original SADF Atlas Oryx kitbash.
The other was a colour testbed that was getting too thick.
Acetone has made quick work of the assortment of paint used on them but seems to have left the green stuff putty intact! (used to make the main landing gear sponsons etc)
Still not sure what they will become....

Here is a pic of 2 Hueys on my bathroom counter. Where else would I keep my helicopters?
These belong to the ROD's 3rd Aviation Battalion, though an OD Huey is pretty flexible when it comes to modern wargaming. No camouflage in the ROD - everything is straight OD green. In fact, supply personnel are only authorized to order OD paint through the army supply system. A other colors require permission from brigade HQ.
BTW - I love the idea of Helicopter November! What are we doing for December?

Yes, very cool idea!
I’ve been wanting to get these CH53s done and this was the needed push.
Still working on both and need to be productive this weekend to get them done before the month.
WIP…

These are pretty straightforward PITAs…

With the rotors off, I went ahead and made the rotor blur pieces. A bit larger than the CH47 rotors so new pieces had to be made.
