More Modern Aircraft Please

Post by pdxs3t »

I’ve been collecting GHQ aircraft for 10+ years. And I have a want list I’ve maintained since day one. These are my top five, I’d love to see done. Do you have a top five?

1) Su-27 Flanker
2) A-6 Intruder
3) F-105 Thunderbolt
4) F-15E Strike Eagle
5) Su-34 Fullback

Jaguar GR1A.

With chisel nose, RWR on the tail, ALQ-101 ECM pods, drop tanks, 1000lbers, chaff+flare dispensers, and a single over wing niner-lima.

And I need to paint it in a really dirty desert pink, with 'Katrina Jane' on the side of the nose.

Reason: my friend flew it and the 'British 1/300th' manufactured version really isn't good enough.

I'd second the Jaguar. Since I'm using my 1/285 collection for "what-if" Cold War scenarios, my wish list kinda reflects that.

- Alpha Jet
- F-104G Starfighter
- Jaguar Gr.1
- Mirage F1
- Super Etendart

How about a C-130? It would be large and no doubt expensive, but it would also make me reckless with my credit card.

I wouldn’t mind an AC-130

If you need a C130 I would highly recommend a 1/300 plastic kit from a japanese mfg.
I picked up three for about C$5 each some time ago.

Go together easy and look fine at the scale. Normally the Blue Angels one can be found cheaper than the rest, you will paint them anyway.

I do not think this would be one for GHQ to make a profit on.
Also once aircraft start to get this size in any metal including pewter the weight will not work in your favor.
I have metal 737's that repeatedly break the landing gear.

My safe picks would be.

Su 27 Flanker (also use as China J11).
Typhoon.
Jaguar.
Gripen.
SA 321 Super Frelon (also use as China Z-8. )
Generic small UAV set.

AH-1Z Viper
UH-1Y Venom.
Although I can still use my AH-1W Cobras for my modern Marines the AH-1Z is rapidly supplanting them.

Both of these would be cool!

First, I gotta tell you, nice job on all you do! Been admiring for a long time.

Maybe polyurethane can be used for the fuselage and the rest in pewter? GHQ does it for the big Russian Orthodox Church.

Those are really nice, thanks for the pictures and the manufacturer. I just bought 2 YS-11 from them to use as airfield scenery. It might be getting a bit off-topic, but I already have some 1/300 models in use as scenery. Revell is making the German Bremen-class frigate in 1/300-scale. Makes a great stand-in on a port-scenario and the scale isn't too far off either. I'll try to make some pics with GHQ Lynx helicopters on it's fantail.
