This morning another Imperial warship was spotted in Ukrainian waters, a move that was protested by Ukraine and vociferously condemned by most of the international community. This morning the Imperial ship in question was a Typhoon class SSGN which surfaced near the coast line and ran on the surface for approximately 40 minutes while flying an Imperial flag.
[GM’s Note: War is coming! If you would like to participate in the festivities, you can prepare your forces by developing an order of battle for your troops down to the battalion level. Because this war will be fought at a higher level, we will use battalions as the primary playing piece of the game. Units can still deploy company sized units, but for record keeping purposes I will only track the battalions.
I will use the primary weapon system as the battalion’s metric. A mech infantry battalion has grunts, IFVs, mortars, scouts, etc, but for record keeping purposes I will only track the number of IFVs. For tank battalions it’s the number of tanks, artillery is the number of guns/launchers, light infantry is the number of rifle squads, and support battalions will track the number of companies. Please see below for an example of an ROD unit.
When I send updates, I’ll send the unit strength in the form of a percentage rating. When players send me their orders, I will also need them to send a random draw from a deck of regular playing cards. Since a dice roll won’t work in this game, the players will draw a card (suit doesn’t matter) and as referee I will draw a control card. I’ll compare the two card values and it will give me a number between 1 and 12 for each unit’s performance for that turn.
More to follow on the mechanics of the game at a later date.]
1st Brigade Combat Team / 1st Mech Division
-1st Battalion, 4th Infantry (44 x M2A2)
-2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry (44 x M2A2)
-1st Battalion, 2nd Armor (44 x M1A1)
-1st Battalion, 16th Field Artillery (18 x M109A6)

The Eurasian Empire launched a massive military exercise in the Volgograd Province, on the north-east coast of the Black Sea this afternoon. The exercise includes the bulk of the Imperial Army’s Category I divisions in the Central Military District (active duty divisions), as well as several Imperial Air Force wings. The exercise is a combination of force-on-force training and live fire exercises.
Near the coast, the 2nd Combined Arms Army is conducting mobilization and deployment drills and road marching to training areas throughout the province. Order of Battle for 2nd Combined Arms Army is as follows:
5th Motor Rifle Division
94th Motor Rifle Division
125th Tank Division
805th Motor Rifle Division
3rd Artillery Brigade
14th SAM Brigade
21st Engineer Brigade
103rd Rocket Artillery Brigade
140th Attack Helicopter Brigade
146th Utility Helicopter Brigade
Further inland, just north of the Volgograd Province, the 5th Army is also participating in the exercise. 5th Army is a light infantry formation. Its units are currently conducting small unit training and live fire exercises. Order of Battle for 5th Army is as follows:
9th Light Infantry Division
17th Light Infantry Division
35th Light Infantry Division
45th Light Infantry Division
4th Artillery Brigade
15th SAM Brigade
22nd Engineer Brigade
104th Rocket Artillery Brigade
142nd Attack Helicopter Brigade
147th Utility Helicopter Brigade
Other Units assigned to the Central Military District, but that have not been identified thus far as participating in the exercise, are the 1st and 2nd Naval Infantry Divisions and the 99th Spetznaz Brigade. Roughly half of the 1st Naval Infantry Division is currently deployed to the Middle East (and some in Yer Bouti).
Air and Naval orders of battle will be discussed in the coming days.
[GM’s Note: during the game, intelligence updates will include order of battle down to the battalion level – this is a strategic intel update for what the Eurasian Empire has in theater.]

OK, so I know from the Suez War that 12e Régiment blindé du Canada is an armored unit (mix of Leo IIs and LAV IIIs, unless that has changed) and the Royal 22nd Regiment is light infantry. What are the rest of these units? Are they all light infantry? Tanks? Mech Infantry?
