Re: 1/2400th scale Micronaut deck decals
Thanks GHQ! New website, new opportunities, what else could we ask for........except maybe a model of the Japanese escort carrier Shin'yo. Originally a German liner converted to CVE and served from December '43 to Nov. '44 before being sunk by Spadefish. A new carrier for FDD to create a deck for!
Thanks!

I see GHQ even posted posted pics and a link to Flight Deck Decals on their FB page. Well done GHQ!

Re: 1/2400th scale Micronaut deck decals
I have just visited the site after seeing GHQ's post with link; what an impressive array of decals. The site still mentions that these will be discontinued so not sure if they are and will continue to be available. I have the Royal Navy carriers and would definitely order decals for those if still available.

Re: 1/2400th scale Micronaut deck decals
Thank you for the reply; I have most of the British carriers now and am eagerly awaiting the Colossus class, the last of which my father served on (HMS WARRIOR) during her final commission in the Royal Navy. There is quite a bewildering array of choices for each ship so will have to sort out which ones to get.
When you say "painted for GHQ" are those the ones we see online and in the catalogue? If so I would be interested in discussing paints and techniques. I want to get back into painting these after a very long hiatus and the paints I used to use are long gone. I have been scouring the local paint racks for authentic naval colours but havent seen many.
Will contact the decal maker to see if they are still available, and hope he might do a set for the forthcoming Colossus class.

Tonight I finished up Mod USN except coldwar super carriers would have got them but have to see who still makes them. Finished JMDF, RN just need Soviet , French and Plan.

Their page regarding GHQ seems to have been updated, including a sneak peek on what's next. This is really great news and my tabletop-budget for 2021 now has to include another 6-7 new carriers.

Re: 1/2400th scale Micronaut deck decals
Hello All,
just found out from here and from what is on Dan's site, that the deck decals will continue I am very glad as I am just now entering into WWII for ship model assembly and use. I started with 3000 scale 40 years ago with the Naval Wargaming Society in London and have branched out since, but WWI was my main focus to start. Now i am digging deeper in the the Pacific War, and look forward to 2400 scale work and the deck decals are a wonderful resource.
I am hoping to find or commission some 2400 scale plane decals as well, not sure who to start with but may try Dan to start with.
this is a fine forum and GHQ models are superb, I have collected other scales and other makers but looks like the way the Micronaut models are created with the flush deck base model is very good for it make painting the decks first greatly easier.
Hello to all and hope to meet more members here over time.
Best of Christmas and New Years to all

Re: 1/2400th scale Micronaut deck decals
Hi all,
After many years away, I have reregistered on the forum. Last time I was here, I did not need a x10 magnifier to build and paint my GHQ models… I would like to thank both GHQ and all of you for your support of the deck decals. I am in your debt for talking me into keeping them in production.
GHQ has been keeping me busy the past couple of months. Especially on the Micronaut line. Just when I thought I was caught up they go and launch a new ship. There are much worse problems to have though
Completed new deck designs:
• HMS Argus
• T-AKE1 Lewis & Clark
• Admiral Gorshkov class FFG
Upgraded decks designs including ship names & pennant #s for:
• Kirov Class CGN
• Udaloy Class DDG
• Slava Class CG
• Sovremenny Class DDG
And as of last week:
• 7x different design for the Colossus class model
• 4x designs for the Queen Elizabeth class CV
• Next up will be that monster of a LHD the Type 075.
I'm really hoping GHQ will someday do a Majestic class follow on to the Colossus as this will give me the ability to make decks for all the Countries that used that class: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, India, Netherlands. Would also love to see an Angled E s s e x.
On top of the the Micronauts I have also completed several design sheets for Panzer and Panzer Grenadier Battalions sized specifically to GHQ models. Thank you again for all your support over the years! I hope you like the new design!
Cheers,
Dan

Hi Dan:
Thank you for your product update. I have purchased HMS ARGUS but your decal was not ready when I placed my order with you. I will have to get that as well as the Colossus class.

Re: 1/2400th scale Micronaut deck decals
Life is just unfair.
I thought I was done with my US fleet. I had every ship I wanted, I have them organized in their historical squadrons and divisions, and I have everything based and painted. Just a few more Avengers and Hellcats to glue to 2 or 3 flight decks.
Then I discover that Dan has recently released hull numbers for all US WW2 cruisers, battleships and destroyers, which turn meant for me I had to order them and am looking forward to applying ~140 decals in the next few weeks.
In all seriousness: I really am excited about those numbers. Even if it's going to be a lot of work, it'll make those ships stand out and stand apart from each other. Thanks!
