Hi Hoth! Those Middle Eastern buildings look nice. A very good first effort.
I enjoy painting buildings and will be getting back to them soon. I have done a number of Middle Eastern type buildings from a variety of manufacturers.
Here are a couple of suggestions which you can consider as you wish.
1. Try for a little variety in the colors of the buildings. Generally speaking, you can use white and various shades of beige/sand for your colors. Unless the buildings are all part of a compound, they will have some variations in color and maybe weathering.
2. Windows. I admit that I am not a big fan of windows, windshields, and canopies painted light blue. My experience is that this does not occur naturally most of the time. When I have painted my various glass parts, I will sometimes use a blackwash which doesn't make it black but more of a gray color and then add some gloss to the glass area for the reflection.
Speaking of buildings, does anybody know where I might find German Wehrmacht kaserne style barracks of the style so many of us became familiar with during the Cold War?

I will send a PM to you with a link to what I think you are looking for.
Polish, RedLeg, Chris,
Thanks for the compliments. Yes, first attempt. I can do better, I think.
pmskaar,
Thanks for the tips and suggestions. Keep them coming. I love collaboration.
On the subject of windows, I do not really like the bright blue windows. I would much prefer dark blue. Sadly the color I was using got contaminated and thanks to the Pandemic and rustoleum, I have to find a new color. I wanted to make progress, so I went with light blue. As for the use of Black or blackish colors, I have not been a totally big fan of that.
As for variation in color, I was thinking of doing that on the next batch. I have about 12 more buildings to do and I was going to change the color up slightly. Great idea, there is never uniformity in something as dynamic as a city.
One thing I learned.. You cannot apply an acrylic that uses a thinner other than water, to paint over one that is water based. it will remove the water based paint in a second. Lessons learned.

Those came out really well! I like to add a wash and grime up my buildings and I echo Pete’s comments on windows. Buildings are easy to kit bash abs add ons always bring more life out of them. Can’t wait to see your next batch!

Would these work?
Not exact but can be down loaded for free. I'll look for the link.
