Quick question-do you put a wash on the vehicle before you detail or after?
Thanks.

Re: Question detail or wash first?
Would the detail work become ‘dirty’ as the vehicle does.
If so, then detail first, then wash.

x2
I like using a black wash to "tone down" colors as well. Play with it, paint the detail, add wash... come over with a drybrush to highlight. See what that leaves you. Re-do if necessary.

Re: Question detail or wash first?
Like Chris and Polish GI, I am in the detail first then wash group. If there is a detail that needs to be touched up, I will go back and do it after the wash. This seems to work for me.

I uses to detail 1st then wash but lately I been the other way around so the color would pop.
Now I wash, drybrush and detail.

I wash, dry brush, detail. Like Nash. For me I want brighter contrast to show off those smaller details.
