Outstanding work, I did not know how detailed those ACW figs are!
Always great to see a photo to show off the minis, My eyes are not what they used to be.

Red, Burt, 7.62, thanks a lot! Sometimes I’m my own worst critic.
7.62, they do have an amazing amount of detail, it really pops with a wash. I’m sure I could get more out of them with a dry brushing, but I paint them to be used a lot, so I don’t worry about it too much.

First crack at some Napoleonics, I figured I would give a stand a crack to see how they turn out before I invest time and effort into researching and possibly buying rule sets. Its only half done, I'm going to add three more before I finish the base, but this is a very side project, so I'm in no real hurry.

Great work on those destroyers Bill! They're beautiful!
And what scale are the Napoleonics again? It looks like you painted the buttons on their coats, or are those medals or badges? That's crazy! Keep the pics coming - they look great! You need some artillery too!

Thanks a lot Red, those are GHQs 10mm, and yes, those are buttons, there are buttons on the coat tails and sleeve cuffs too, lol.

Great work on the U.S. destroyers, Bill! I also really like your work on the French Napoleonic infantry. I have some samples of these that I bought from GHQ a long time ago but have never painted them. I also have some of their British infantry as well. They are very nicely sculpted to be sure.

Thanks a lot Pete. They are pretty time consuming to paint, a lot of touching up to get things straight, I found some things on those three I need to do better on. Right now, I couldn’t imagine have to paint hundreds of them for a game, I’d need to streamline my process like my ACW.

Ive started re-teaching myself the Micronauts rules, certainly not playing the full game at this point, just remembering how to move and shoot.
Three Akizuki's and three Fletchers move within range, the Fletchers missed, but the Japanese all targeted the Hoel, and all three strattled.

The result was four hits on the Hoel out of the 24 guns that fired. The first hit was a critical hit that cause double hull damage. The second hit knocked out X turret, and the third and fourth hits cause further hull damage that wrecked the ship.

And then my wife told me it was time for dinner, so the battle is over. I need to go over the radar and torpedo rules next.

In the US Navy it would be Number One Five Inch, Number Two Five Inch, etc. Similarly, for a Brooklyn class light cruiser the forward main batteries would be Numbers One, Two and Three Six Inch with the aft two batteries Numbers Four and Five Six Inch. A center line five inch forward of the bridge on a cruiser or battleship would be Number One Five Inch but I cannot remember which side is the odd numbered side. I guess I am just going to have to find my 1943 USN Gunnery Manual for that.

Brigade, thanks. I knew that, I just went with X as that is how GHQ has the all labeled on the Ship Status Logs for standardization, and to avoid confusion of gun location using such a wide range of models from across the worlds navies.

Re: Bills stuff
I blame it on Jane's. In the 1930's and 1940's it was the major, and sometimes only, Naval Intelligence resource many countries had. Being a British company they foisted RN nomenclature on the world. As in the USN uses hull number but the world is stuck on pennant number. Meanwhile we are the ones trying to protect the world's oceans. Often it is the little things that vex.
Although, I do wish we went with more of a maybe Midway sized carrier and had more carriers. I do realize that each one requires almost as many crew. Still a bit more maneuverable than the Nimitz and Ford classes. Just hoping that the Admirals know what they are doing. Then again, once upon a time, we had the Admirals telling everyone that battleships is where it is at.
