2nd Squadron is crossing the equator today. The line crossing ceremony is going full tilt on the ROD ships - those sailor who have not yet had the opportunity to cross the equator will earn the name Shellback, but only after they have satisfied Neptune!

Line crossing ceremonies are underway on all of the KDF Navy ships.
The largest is on the Landing Ship Forbidding which is also carrying 140+ Marines and a 40+ air detachment.
On the large flight deck King Neptune’s assistants arrived first followed by his doctors, barbers and the judge.
Then with great fanfare and an impromptu fashion show the King arrives and takes his place on the throne.
The large temporary pool is already full and ducking stalls have been made from a row of three plastic seats. The doctors, nurses and barber set about their work, it is going to get messy, Officers first.

Some of the KDF and ROD sailors are undoubtedly still recovering from their Shellback experience as the fleet makes port today. he 1st Squadron is arriving in Tokyo ad 2nd Squadron is pulling into Port Moresby.

How did that happen PG? You have some Navy time that you didn't tell us about?

I thought this kind of Ceremony was banned? Good thing the NC Navy does not practice this.

Port Moresby.
Following talks with the PNG Government under the direction of their Department of Health.
The KDF has offered to vaccinate up to 50,000 of the most remote citizens. The Karma Forces will provide air, sea transport and logistics along with medical teams to work alongside local health care.
We have two NH-90, four AS565 Panther embarked and several small boats. The ships of the Task Force have spread out over a few hundred Kilometers to increase coverage.
The KNS Forbidding (LPD) is coordinating.

Bor in Japan in the days when family moved by ship. Crossed equator going to US. Weathered a typhoon, as well. Train from Seattle to Pittsburgh, too.

Today is the last day of fleet command for the ROD. The ROD commander, Rear Admiral “Big Guns” Barbarino, must now hand the Golden Trident of to the senior CoC naval commander who is over 500 miles away. An SH-60 helicopter with a fuel probe is prepping for the mission. Perhaps Mindanaodom can throw a tanker up to let our chopper refuel so that we can make the trip and turn command of the fleet over to the CoC?

Saturday the two squadrons will link up in the South China Sea, but only AFTER they duke it out in a vicious naval battle! Then a full day of prowling around the Spratley Islands before turning south.

The Global Fleet made it to the Bay of Bengal this morning, and it found the ROD Navy waiting for it! ROD Carrier Battle Group 6 was steaming south-east while the Global Fleet was steaming north-west and both forces just rolled right into the attack. The one-day exercise will not slow the Global Fleet down too much – just a small side trip.

On the Invincible, the Sr. NCO (King Neptune commands others) initiating the Polly to become Shellbacks. Looks of soap, shaving cream and the fire hoses. Dozens were laid in the safety nets, hosed down, cleaned then hosed down again. Other ships in the group are participating, having similar ceremonies. King Neptune was given a Samurai Sword, to please him. King Neptune, the magnificent cancelled the turtle races on bare hands, feet, and knees across the deck. Those participants that were judged to be inferior were given a life jacket on a 6 foot rope, put in the ocean. Then a Tico went by at full speed and a LCS Freedom class on the other side causing waves. None pulled the rope. Thus Neptune has awarded Shellback to each and everyone. The King is happy, the Shellbacks are happy.

The Global Fleet is making a port call in Mumbai, India today for a 2-day visit!

Yesterday afternoon, 2 warships from the Eurasian Empire sailed from the Shangri-La Naval Base in Djibouti and made a naissance of themselves, sailing through the Global Fleet formation and firing flares over the ROD ships. No contact was made, and no shots were fired, but this Imperial destroyer sailed alongside the ROD Battleship Cerberus for about 20 minutes. Crews from both vessels went out onto the deck to make obscene gestures at each other.
