Holy smokes! More please!

lol

Owning/modeling the ships of the world for an era (WWII) would be SO dang cool. But to be honest... for me, intimidating for sure... lol

Gets me thinking about the older wargames War at Sea or Victory in the Pacific... could you replace the counters with these models and insert the counter numbers on the base. Might be fun.

Great pics! Cant wait for more.
You would need to figure out some scaling issues but could be done. If you want an easy to learn, fast, fun naval game use GHQ 1-2400 WWII ships with War at Sea rules. Most of the ship cards can be printed from online sites.

I took the lazy route. :)

I took a top-down picture of the Atlantic Ocean, adjusted it for size of the vessel, added the text and the flag. Then I printed everything on adhesive, size A4 paper, stuck the whole sheet onto 1,0 mm plasticard and cut it out.

The bow waves are added with white paint, after the ship has been glued in place.

Your ships look great. Keep posting them. Do you game them?

No, unfortunatley, I'm only a collector in regards to 1/2400 ships. I did play a few games using my WWI ships and the "Victory at Sea: Age of Dreadnoughts" rule set, but ever since the LGS closed down, my historical wargaming has ground to a halt, the exception being an occasional game using 1/285 moderns and the "Team Yankee" rules.

STS,

Your painted US WW2 ships look great! Love the bass with the seascape photo textures. It really helps the models stand out. Thanks for sharing the photos. Hope to see more of your work in the future. :D
