Cossack Disaster!
I have 3 packs of G74 Cossack Cavalry. For the life of me I cannot get them off the sprue without breaking or damaging the bases and horses legs. My snips wont work and they are on there too strongly to simply wiggle off. Any ideas? Ive already damaged and thrown away about half a pack. Any suggestions on a good tool to use? Otherwise all are getting trashed as they are worthless to me. What a waste!!!

Try using a Hobby knife and just cut in between the Base and the Spruce just enough so you can easily wiggle it off.

I tried that already. Honestly it’s impossible. The metal is super thick at the connecting point…the Polish Cav for example practically fall off the sprue cleanly with a few light wiggles…not the brave Cossacks! lol $30 down the drain! Hoping someone on here has figured it out already.

A Dremel with a cutoff wheel might do the trick.

May be a hand razor saw if you can get one (Michaels, Home Depot had them way back).
Thin as a razor but with teeth. One of the best tools I ever picked up, will go through pewter like butter.

Great Idea! I just bought a mini Razor Saw kit online for $12. I didnt know they made saw tooth exacto-style blades. That might do the trick. THANKS!

There is a tool used by plastic modelers. It is a cutting pliers with one side with the usual relief but the other side cuts flush. Don't know the name but look for flush cutter maybe.

They’re called sprue cutters, I have a few of them for my models, and I use them on GHQ stuff that needs to get cut from sprue, they work just fine.

Trashed! All went right into the dumpster with a SLAM DUNK! Nothing worked. Snips, saw blades etc. I shoulda bought Russian or Polish cavalry instead. Thanks for the ideas though. Ahhhh…that felt good…after all the wasted time, effort, and frustration…now I feel better

Honestly, I'd take pics and ask for a refund.

Re: Cossack Disaster!
Go with Heroics & Ros. They have Cossack cavalry.
I had a similar issue with the Taczankas. The horses had no bases so getting them to stand straight was a total mess. I ended up using some left over H&R draft horses from years past. Sturdy, on bases and matched the wagons well.

Would a set of hobby clippers will work to remove the horses carefully?
