A post on FB got me thinking about vineyards (I don't own a single one yet). Had the idea of using roofing nails and scrubber pads. The nails become the "trunks" and then just flock the pads. For 1/285 the pad is easy to cut but I think thumb tacks would be the right length.
They are cheap and easy to make. I think once done they will flex over hills too. These nails are 1.25" so next time I'll look for something shorter.

Re: Terrain Concept Test: Vineyards
Are you making a vineyard or hedgerow?
Will it be elevated?

In the last picture, there is space between the green and the brown. There is less metal exposed in the second picture as compared to the first.

Re: Terrain Concept Test: Vineyards
Just testing various "vine" thicknesses. I think the first is for 6mm with shorter nails, the second maybe for 15mm...

Re: Terrain Concept Test: Vineyards
Cool idea - will be interesting to see it on the terrain board. I suspect moss or lichen is too big to use?

For 1/285, definitely. I use it for hedges and hedgerows. If you trim it it just turns into dust.

Re: Terrain Concept Test: Vineyards
Do you know of anybody who has 3-D printed hedgerows and then applied flocking to it? I’m wondering if that might be an easy solution as well?
