Mine plows
Which do you like more, which looks better? The dirty plows or the clean plows?
Dirty mine plows and a dirty tank.

Experimenting with 2mm buildings. Here is a town base I built. Still need to finish the roads.

That looks pretty cool. There’s been a lot of articles recently in WS&S about 2mm, mostly for ancients. It seems to getting more popular.

Lookin good Chris! Nice and dirty!
Nice town Mark! What is it based on? Is it on wood, or are you using something lighter weight?

I think it's MDF. I ordered a bunch of them from Amazon. "Artist's Hardboard" if I recall correctly.

Re: Show us yer stuff!
not so much "work", it's more of a "project preview"
After cleaning, a 6"x4" airport "map" fell into my hand, which I had bought on ebay a few years back. It's 1/400-scale and usually used by airline model collectors.
I'm planning on glueing it to a plywood backboard, put some model gras on the green areas, weather the tarmac a bit and put a tower and a few hangars on it, to turn it into a gaming board. Could be perfect for a hostage-rescue situation, airport assault or Kabul evac scenario.
I placed a few GHQ minis and 1/300 model aircraft just to show the scale, but it looks like it could work, even with the scale difference. The next pics i'll share they'll be all painted up....
picture of the whole map (not my picture, it's from the manufacturer)
a few GHQ trucks and a wrecker, alongside my upcoming imaginations C-1
Bo-105s and CH-53s sitting on the tarmac with a C-130 (still in it's old livery) in the background
Tornado getting refueled
the left side of the map, with 3 C-1s, an E-767 getting refueled by a GHQ tanker and my imagination's VIP-Airbus taking off in the background.

The airport map would be cool indeed! Only immediate question that pops up is storage once the surface is tacked down.
But even setting up a Force on Force game would be ideal too!

Really like the airport. Nice presentation.
I have an cloth mat which is 1/2 of a runway, might be LAX. I’ve posted it here few years ago.

Re: Show us yer stuff!
I still haven't fully decided yet. Currently the map is divided into 4 seperate parts (somewhat visible on the pics). Two 1"x3" pieces for the runway, two 2"x3" pieces for the tarmac, parking lot and taxiway. So I might just keep it that way an glue it onto 4 seperate pieces of wood. Then I can just shove it under the bed or store it below my slot car track.
There are other maps like it from other competitors, with different layouts, but think this is the only layout "1st Choice" offers.
It's from a company called "First Choice", which does advertise it as "Gemini compatible". . Having googled at the Gemini maps, they seem to be more detailed, have better material and a higher price tag. I think I only paid ~20-30€ for my map.
Thanks. I'll keep posting updates as I go along.
Next step, (besides painting aircraft) I'm going to start scouring the web for Herpa (a German model train scenery company) plastic sets. 1/200 scale military aircraft shelters and 1/200 scale jet blast deflectors as first additions. 1/200 scale should still look right.
(pics not mine, but from the manufacturer)
