Re: Karmanaskis (Greater Karma)
redleg asked. 'We want to know more about this special artillery unit!'
The 5th Regiment (Special) Artillery/Group has always been one of the most camera averse and secure units of the KDF.
The Army does not usually comment on its operation, equipment or budget. Yesterdays announcement was most likely political signaling from the Karma Government.
It would be a very brave/foolish journalist to look into the unit, let alone post articles or photos without approval from above.
The only know images of the unit where issued in a thesis on the Karma Space Program five years ago.
Site 2 was mentioned as a modern production facility operated by the Technical Support component of the 5th (Special) Artillery.
The thesis was quickly taken down and the author it is believed, has since embarked on a new career choice in road construction.

Re: Karmanaskis (Greater Karma)
To be more exact Mech, Karma has an operational unit containing multiple ICBMs.
That unit makes up one part of the new 5th Artillery Group.
***Edit Jul 16th***
Karmanaskis is in the middle of a heatwave and National emergency!
All borders and airspace are closed until further notice. KDF is on full alert but staying within it's territories and waters.
Government is blaming a beer shortage and smoke from excessive Bar B-Q's.
Normal services will resume asap but this could last for a few weeks!
***Cheers***

Re: Karmanaskis (Greater Karma)
The Karma Government has returned from it's Summer recess.
The current leader has received an overwhelming endorsement to continue the modernization of the Country.
Karma Defence Forces units are to redouble their efforts toward the 2025 plan without delay!
First item of news this week will be the changes to the 1st BN of the Armoured Brigade.
Now I just need to find the paint.

Re: Karmanaskis (Greater Karma)
Looking forward to seeing the changes to the armour. Are the expected changes organisational only, or will we be seeing new equipment issued?

Splod.
The KDF will be a complete change from what it was 12 Months ago (bugger all done since Feb lol).
The move to a combined arms structure is well underway, this includes adopting larger 14 vehicle units when required.
This weekend the 1st BN is working on upgrades to the equipment of two tank and two infantry companies.
The upgrade to the HQ unit will include a recce element.

Re: Karmanaskis (Greater Karma)
HALE drone images of Karmanaskis Harbor, or whatever they call it now….
The heavy armor is below deck for weight distribution and to keep prying eyes away. Appears that they were unable to get those 4 tanks below deck, so there are to be a few tanks topside.

Great looking vehicles, both in the 1st Battalion formation and also on the dock and ship! I wonder where that ship is headed to with all that armor?

Re: Karmanaskis (Greater Karma)
Fantastic ship. Is it built to represent an actual ship or did you come up with the design?

Hi jwbolen, That is a model of the RO-RO ferry, MS Nedlloyd Rouen (1/450 scale) by Imex.
It belongs to Chris, I have one too that I hacked around with the bridge to try and make it look more like 1/285-1/300.
You need a bit of sealift the way the Imagi-nations are spread around.

Re: Karmanaskis
Normal UIN Intel Dept! A five year old newspaper story.
Those missiles have been in the ground for ages, they just updated the warheads. The newer mobile, solid fuelled ones are a generational jump in technology. Maybe in the Santa's parade this year.
In other news, the KDF released photos of the replacement for the old Grizzly AVGP. It's called the new Grizzly 2.
The same platform will be used to replace the Kougar and the Husky in the KDF.
Karma never acquired the LAV 3 after New Canada lobbied GD against Karmanaskis joining the venture (we remember).
Karmanaskis was very much like the old Canada in the past until the hot heads got into power in NC.
After that the KDF developed its equipment in its own way.
