What model for USS Ess...ex CV9?

Looks like GHQ has 3 Ess...ex class carrier models : USS Yorktown, USS Ticonderoga & USS Lexington. I'd like to do USS Ess...ex, I'm hesitant as to what model pick. USS Ticonderoga being a later "long bow" type, I guess it's out. USS Yorktown being an early type, should be good, but there is that bit on the assembly notice about how it had catapults the Ess...ex lacked... and USS Lexington would also, IMO, be of the later type too. So, which is closer, and will fit the flight deck decal I have bought?

Hey Foxbat, I did a USS Essx model, but I modeled it for the Korean War so I used the Ticonderoga. The Essx decals I got from Flight Deck Decals fit perfectly on that model. I assume there was a refit at some point between WW2 and Korea. I'm sure you have the same references that I do, but I look through what I have when I get home tonight to see how much the ship changed.

Thanks for the help, Redleg, . I will do the WW2 Essx. Many ships of the long bow class underwent some kind of rebuild for the Korean War, and all short bow types were mothballed. ** CENSORED ** is short bow, The Tico is long bow... The only short bow type made by GHQ is apparently CV10 Yorktown. There are some minor differences though so I'm wondering whether the new Lexington would be better.
