If you follow the ROD website you may have notice that it is gone. I killed it. The platform changed some of its rules and I now have to get the premium subscription to do most of the stuff I wanted to do on there, so I just scrapped the whole thing.

I will be creating a new website in the near future, and in the meantime I am reorganizing the ROD military. There wasn't anything wrong with the old organization, but I thought a little change would be nice.

Don't worry - the Fighter Rodeo will still be happening in March!

Oh good, I was beginning to worry after seeing the old website disappearing. What hosting site are you going to use for your new ROD website?

Don't know yet. My interest in the imagi-nations has been lackluster recently.

The ROD is using this opportunity to completely revamp its military and refresh its imagi-nation background story. Many of the updates were rolled out last year, like the ROD history document. More changes to come this year, primarily regarding a national budget and Army reorganization.

The Army is going from a brigade-based organization to a regimental system. Combat units are still combined arms forces, but they will be organized into infantry, armor, cavalry, or field artillery regiments. Division and corps HQs still exist, and they will assist with personnel assignments and career management for all branches.

The new organization is Force Structure 4, and we are updating all TO&Es, starting with the infantry. The first unit to complete its update is the 15th Parachute Infantry Regiment. Callsign Rampage.

The regiment consists of three parachute infantry battalions, a towed howitzer battalion (105mm), a support battalion, a scout company, and of course the regiment HHC. Total headcount is 2,480 personnel and the annual operating cost is 440 million dollars.

The regiment has three campaign streamers: Mahishmati 2019, Turkey 2023, and Syria 2023. The regiment earned two combat unit citations: Dog Run 2019 and Dugobeyazit 2023.

Mech, do post the pictures of the equipment when you get it painted up.

Redleg. post pictures of your new stuff, when you get it painted up, too.
Thank you.

I will post pics of new stuff, but at the moment I am just reorganizing what I already have, starting with the Infantry Branch, and going full nerd.

Light infantry regiments contain a regiment HHC, scout company, combat engineer company, three light infantry battalions, a direct support light howitzer battalion (105mm towed), and a light forward support battalion. Total headcount is 2,790 and annual operating cost is 465 million dollars.

So far three regiments have transitioned and are deployable:

7th Infantry Regiment - the War Eagles. One of the longest serving units in the ROD army. The regiment has 5 campaign streamers (Mahishmati 2018, Mahishmati 2019, Suez War 2020, Poland 2023, Egypt 2023), and three combat unit citations (Dog Run 2018, Dog Run 2019, Booger Mesa 2019).

12th Infantry Regiment - Bayonet. The regiment has 4 campaign streamers: Suez War 2020, Syria 2023, Turkey 2023, and Egypt 2023.
Image

20th Infantry Regiment - Mongoose. The regiment has a single campaign streamer for Poland 2023.

wasn't the 12th infantry the same unit that made their "Tactical" retreat from Aleppo during the Syrian conflict?

Back then the regiment was split up. 1st battalion served with 1st Mech Division and 2nd battalion was with 3rd Mech Division. Both divisions did quite a bit of maneuvering in that area if I recall.

I hope your still continuing with your EE scenario as its the only time I ever get to use my modern minis as there is still no one in GP (Alberta) that plays with GHQ models yet.

I will fight that war at some point. Right now I don't feel any real sense of urgency, but I'm sure it will happen eventually.

It’s almost that time of year again! Less than a month until the 2026 International Fighter Rodeo! As is the tradition, the fighter rodeo will be held the week of Saint Patrick’s Day at Vulture Field in the ROD, and it is open to the international imagi-nation community.

The International Fighter Rodeo is a week-long event that brings the best combat pilots together from all over the world to hone their combat skills and to promote camaraderie and interoperability.

Once again, this year each PLAYER is invited to send 4 squadrons to the event. The squadrons may be all from the same imagi-nation, or they may be from different imagi-nations. The following squadron guidelines must be followed by all participants:

• The 4 squadrons must include 2 fighter squadrons and 2 attack squadrons. Any airframe may be used, but the squadrons must be designated as either fighter or attack for the competition.
• Each squadron will consist of 12 aircraft and no more than 150 personnel. All 12 aircraft in the squadron must be the same type.

Additional support aircraft and personnel are welcome, though they will not be involved in the competition. The ROD will provide housing and meals for all participants, dignitaries, and media as well as fuel, live ordnance, training ordnance, and ground transportation during the event.

The basic structure of the event remains the same: There will be three competition categories: fighter, attack, and support.

Fighter Category
-Low-level course. All 12 pilots will complete a challenging course at low altitude, negotiating a series of man-made markers and natural terrain features designed to test a pilot’s ability to maneuver at low altitude. Score is based on time and accuracy.

-Drone shoot. All 12 pilots will intercept an unmanned drone and destroy it with cannon fire. Aircraft will be airborne when the drone is launched and will be directed to the target by AWACS aircraft. Time will start when the fighter is 20 miles from the target. Aircraft without internal cannon will mount an external 20mm gun pod for this event.

-Head-to-head. All 12 pilots will participate in a 1-on-1 dogfight with another fighter. 2 points will be awarded for a victory, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. Pilots will participate in 2 dogfights and then the pilots with the most points will enter a semi-final stage leading up to one pilot being named top dogfighter.

Attack Category
-Low-level course. All 12 pilots will complete a challenging course at low altitude, negotiating a series of man-made markers and natural terrain features designed to test a pilot’s ability to maneuver at low altitude. Score is based on time and accuracy.

-Cannon shoot. All 12 pilots will attack a stationary ground target and destroy it with cannon fire. Points will be awarded for accuracy. Aircraft without internal cannon will mount an external 20mm gun pod for this event.

-Bomb drop. All 12 pilots will attack a stationary ground target and destroy it with a 500 lb unguided bomb. Points will be awarded for accuracy.

Support Category
-Aircraft maintenance. A panel of distinguished aircraft maintenance experts will inspect all 12 aircraft and award points based on the overall readiness and condition of the squadron’s aircraft.

-Aircraft pit-stop. All 12 aircraft will begin the competition airborne with a full load of blue painted training ammunition and ordnance, but with minimal fuel. The entire squadron will land and be refueled by the ground crew. All ammunition and ordnance will be downloaded and replaced with a full complement of red-painted training ammunition and ordnance. Time will start when the first aircraft touches down and will end when the last aircraft lifts off after refueling and rearming.

Grand Finale
The rodeo will culminate in a major air battle with all aircraft participating in a force-on-force exercise that will test combat skills as well as the ability to operate effectively in a multi-national force.

[GM’s Note: No real people or micro armor aircraft need to move for this event. Please just add pics of your aircraft and let me know who is participating. All competitions will be resolved by me by dice roll. Aircraft can be any scale (1/285, 1/600, 1/2400). You do not even need to have a full squadron – the squadron commander’s aircraft will do!]

If you would like to participate, please notify the ROD Ministry of Defense and include the squadron designations and aircraft types. No need to rush – you have plenty of time to get ready.
