1973 War Israeli Infantry?

Wanted to ask the experts, what would you use for Israeli infantry for the 1973 War? Would the Israeli infantry pack look to modern?

I was going to use the Russians from the cold War for Syrians, Egyptians and Iraqis. Thanks so much all!!!

Hi Lekw

I don't know who really makes some Israeli infantry for the 1967-73 time period. GHQ's Israelis are modern for 1990 and beyond I believe. I have requested to GHQ to do some Israelis for the 67-73 period but have they have not done so... yet. GHQ has not produced any new infantry in a while and the Cold War era is one that they could fill.

In the meantime, I am also using GHQ's late Cold War Russian infantry (1990) for my Egyptians. I have not found a suitable maker of Israelis as yet.
Heroics and Ros make them but they are their "Classic" series and not more recent sculpts.

Thank you so much. Yea I really only stay with GHQ infantry and tanks guess I am a snob that way but they are just so much better than anything else. I was thinking maybe Vietnam Americans could work or may just go with the 90's Israelis. Thanks again!!!

Thinking about it anyone know if third world regulars would work best for 1973 Israeli infantry?

Hi Lekw

On the Third World Regulars, the helmets and basic uniforms are reasonable but some of the kit on the figures does not work well. There is the backpack and rolled up tarp and a couple of the infantry have some RPG type AT weapons and some of the heavy weapons you really can't use either. I did use the Third World Regulars for my West German infantry and thought they looked reasonable.

Very helpful, thank you so much. I think I am more or less stuck so may just use the standard modern Israeli figures. Hopefully at some point we can get some 67 and 73 Israelis produced by GHQ. Good thing is they make all I could ever want for armor and other vehicles for the periods.

Also those West Germans look amazing by the way!!!

Lekw - You may have to pick something that you can proxy for 1967-73 Israeli infantry until GHQ or someone else decides to do some. Personally, I have not decided what I will be using as yet.
