Thanks for your votes - they have been entered.

The traditional 'free-form' wish list is still available - this thread is an attempt to provide a more focussed list in the hope that it's more persuasive to GHQ. The rules are on page 1.

Just out of curiosity,
does GHQ ever acknowledge and attempt to accommodate wish lists?

GHQ is occasionally reported as saying that they do, among other sources, but I guess we'll find out whether this experiment worked or whether it was all a colossal waste of time in a few months!

They certainly have taken account of some posts in the past - notably the Matilda and me constantly whinging about needing updated British Infantry Weapons (thanks GHQ - looking forward to those!). I'd be very surprised if we don't see quite a lot of the top voted items although GHQ do have to take produceability and potential sales into account.

In the years I have been involved in this site, I have never seen them directly say that there choices came from these list. However, like CG2 stated, some things do appear. However, one year they actually reached out to the community and asked for what we would like to see and did incorporate a big chunck.. Not sure how sales worked out for them, but it happen once.

Its what brought us the M60A2 that panzer wanted.

Sadly they never did it again. Wish they would have, but maybe its because we do list. Just felt more warm and fuzzy coming from them.

By the way, I want an uparmored Challenger II and before anyone says the TES is there, I say look at the link I posted. I am not asking for the TES.. LOL

Well, as I said, if they totally ignore this experiment, we'll just discontinue it and go back to the old Wish List.

Consolidated 1/285th Wish List

Post by pmskaar »

Thanks for doing this CG2. It is appreciated.

I would like to see more Cold War infantry selections from GHQ. Right now, almost all the infantry GHQ makes is either World War II, Ultra Modern 1990+, or Third World. The exception to this is the Vietnam era which falls into the Cold War period.

Having said that, the 1990 era American infantry is pretty okay generally for 1985+ so fits the late Cold War period and the 1990 era Russian infantry is mostly reasonable for the same time frame.

Here are my suggestions for more Cold War era infantry from the late 1960s through 1980s.

1. British infantry and heavy weapons.
2. French infantry and heavy weapons.
3. American infantry in steel pots and heavy weapons including ground mounted TOWs, M-60 MGs, etc. I was in Germany from 1981 to 1985. During that time, we got the BDUs in 1982, and the Fritz helmets in around 1984.
4. West German infantry and heavy weapons.
5. East German infantry and heavy weapons.
6. Russian Motor Rifle infantry and heavy weapons. These would have less gear as they are riding around in cramped APCs and IFVs and with the long boots.
7. Arab infantry and heavy weapons to represent Egyptians and Syrians for the 1967 and 1973 wars.
8. Israeli infantry and heavy weapons for the 1967 and 1973 wars.
9. South African infantry in Booney Hats for the 1980s.
10. Jordanian infantry and heavy weapons for the 67 war.

I know some of this can be "proxied" and won't look too bad but it would be nice to see some of these done at least.

Is anyone else on this forum interested in more Cold War infantry and vehicles?

Pete

Yes, but you've both used all your votes already, unless you wish to change them?

I’ll save the WIGEs for the 2020-2021 wish list.

For me the number 1 choice is the WW2 Italian command pack. It can be used on all fronts.

Yes - it's very high on my list too, right after the Churchill 'Funnies' add-on pack.
