Following GHQ’s 2013-2014 release announcements and the flurry of wish list modifications that followed, here are some of the highlights of the Micronaut Wish List as of 2013-06-06 The noted changes are from the 2013-05-11 summary (just before the 2013-2014 schedule announcements).
Total number of ship types receiving at least one vote: 2447 (increased from 1073 – Some of this massive increase was due to a series of very long private message wish lists I received in the last week of May and some was the result of my own input. I also split some previous listings into sub-groups. For example, the previous single listing for late Cold War China destroyer Type 051 (Luda) is now divided into Type 051 (Luda I), Type 051 (Luda II), Type 051G (Luda III), Type 051DT (Luda IV), Type 051B (Luhai), and Type 051C (Luzhou). Thirteen ships came off the list because GHQ announced they would be produced in 2013-2014. )
Most popular item: WWII era aircraft carrier deck decals (51 votes, unchanged) Several individuals have suggested that I remove this item from the list because of Tanner’s recent releases. I have not done so because they are not a GHQ product, but I am considering this action. Any comments on this topic would be welcome.

In the thread "Ship Deck Decals" GHQ seems to be endorsing Tanner's decals. With this in mind, I am more seriously considering removeing aircraft carrier deck decals from the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List. I won't do anyting for at least a week to allow comments. If I get a number of requests to retain the votes for aircraft carrier deck decals in general then I will keep it on the list. If I recieve votes for specific ship's deck decals I will apportion the total votes among those ships getting votes. If there is little or no response to retain this in the list or if the response is strongly against keeping them the item will go away.

I’ve tried to keep this list as short as possible: I failed.
I also wanted to be as precise as possible and get everything in one go, but I’ve realised that if I waited for the perfect list I’d die of old age first, so here it is, mistakes and all.
There are some pretty obscure vessels in the list. I expect that a great many will be getting their first vote and therefore will not appear on the consolidated list. But I still wanted to put them up here in the hope that they serve as a reminder that nautical history is, in addition to battles, full of weird and wonderful experiments, unlikely (and at times unrepeated) or unrepeatable engineering and festive examples of outright eccentricity. Maybe you’ll see something you don’t know much about and look it up and, hopefully, place a vote for yourself. It would make my day to see even a couple of these break the cut-off of 11 votes and appear on the list.
So here is a collection of the weird, the overlooked, the bizarre, the niche and the puzzling. Some vessels I have a fetish for that I can’t explain, others are so visually interesting they’d make fascinating subjects for all. I
One other quick note! It’s been written elsewhere that major battles such as Jutland (and I’d add Tsushima to the list) should be fully represented before moving on. To this I wholeheartedly agree, particularly so in the light of Jutland’s upcoming anniversary. I’d originally planned to simply vote for outstanding vessels from Jutland, but got sidetracked – perhaps that should be my next list.
I’ve already voted by PM two of my all time favourites – Seaplane carrier HMAS Albatross, as well as the French coastal battleship Hoche. If you have never taken a good, close look at Hoche than I suggest you do. Gothic pre-dread? Can’t lose.
Seaplane vessel HMS Campania.
Seaplane vessel HMS Engadine
HMS Victoria (of Admiral Tyrone’s collision fame) or Sans Pareil
French Dupuy de Lome of 1887
Russian coastal battleships Novrogod and sister Vice Admiral Popov. Circular ships! Come on, it doesn’t get better than that!
Japanese Battleship Mikasa
German Siegfried Class coastal defence vessels, Beowulf being a perfect example. Two – count ‘em – two forward guns that are not superfiring, but side by side. Amazing stuff. Very similar to German SMS Odin or “Agir†coastals.
A Devastation Class turret ship.
A breastwork Monitor of 1872, for example HMS Glatton
Turret ship Inflexible of 1881.
The Conqueror Class ram of 1886 – check out the stern on that. A very interesting design.
Monitors Erebus and/or Terror
French armoured cruisers Dupliex and Jeanne D’Arc
German cruiser Stuttgart as a seaplane carrier
A Centurion Second Class battleship
A Majestic battleship
Canopus Class battleship
The Cressy Class (as torpedoed so spectacularly by U9).
The Russian Petr Veliki turret ship of 1887
Boadicea Class Light Cruiser.
Active class Scout Cruisers, any of Active, Amphion or Fearless
A Devonshire Class Armoured cruiser
An Acasta Class Destroyer
A Faulknor Class Destroyer Leader
HMS Polyphemus Torpedo Ram
German Brandenburg Class BB as completed 1893
German Braunschweig Class BB
Any one example of the R.N. Scout Cruiser Classes Adventure, Forward, Pathfinder or Sentinel.
Russian barbette Ekaterina II of 1895
Russian Imperator Alexander II class of mixed barbettes and turrets, BBs.
One or more nice examples of a very early torpedo boat, like TB1, TB80 or HMS Lightning; maybe even the American Bagley of 1908, perhaps even (if they show up at this scale!) Stiletto, Cushing or Wilkes.
A good example of a German “aviso†like the “Wacht†Class
The one-off USS Vesuvius of 1888. A Dynamite Gun Cruisers. Come on! It’s … dynamite. Just aim the whole ship, she’ll be sweet.
And, even though I'm warming up, I ... err ... better stop there. Have a look if you're unaware of some of the earlier vessels. They're packed with character and really amazing. I'd dearly love to see some make the list, let alone get made.
Cheers,
U.

On balance, Jellicoe was probably right.

Don,
Deck decals for all GHQ WWII carriers have been completed by Tanner. He is out of commission for a few months, but I will have a very limited supply of them available shortly (including all Royal Navy carriers). With a little more time, I will be producing these to the same exact standards as Tanner (using his PDF files and techniques - including exact same printer, paper, sealer...). Like I said, I do have a very limited supply of Tanner produced decals (including the UK) and will make them available before the end of September (maybe as soon as this weekend). Tanner has made a tremendous contribution to our hobby, and I am very thankful for his talent!
