And I wouldn't DREAM of using mine for a game!

"With all the talk about budgets and building units, I am wondering if you guys have your vehicles do double duty."

Redleg,
I can only do one Country at a time. In the past I have done most of the major players but if I started to collect a few different Country's bits of kit the older nation was normally sold off at a loss to help pay for the next.
A very ineffective way of doing things I know.

Even my imagi-nations will normally follow a real nations TOE.
Balzac was based on the Swedish army, that is now all gone.
Yer Bouti is based on Iranian equipment (a very big list to play with) luckily I did not get into trying to complete units as it looks like it is about to morph into something new!

When (not if) YB changes it will be modeled on a real nations TOE and I will build close to that. Unit names and camo may be different but equipment and organization will be studied and generally followed.

It's not 100%, I may not find the IFV etc I need so would use a close stand in, or there may be something that I just have to have.

I am with you on owning the pewter for claiming what you have.
If not you may as well use pen and paper and save a lot of cash. I like to stay in one scale as well, ok ships I'll push out to 1/350 but that's just me.

Having re looked at some mirco naughts last week I'm not going to even try to go that small.

All of the my Imagi-nations equipment is largely based on a list of Canadian vehicles, though with the NDA and Maritimes Federation Navies, I mixed in a couple of Royal Navy ships, and French Navy ships for Imperial Quebec's Navy.

I do use my gaming figures for my Imagi-nation. I have painted some in the camo wanted for the imagination. I have mixed vehicles of nations for the CoC. I have more vehicles than I declare for the CoC. I have ships and planes. Some ships are 1/2400, some are 1/350 or similar or kit-bashed to serve in that scale. I do not have real nukes or real 120mm rounds, torpedos, etc::: just want you to know. (hope that is ok).
.
I also kit-bash for some vehicles such as Jagd-Abrams, Bradley M2A4, etc., as a few examples.

Id love to use my stuff for gaming but no one here is interested. I actually made the maser vehicle for a Kaiju vs Megatokyo game for a con but it didn't make. The players were going to use their tanks and apcs to save civilians and/or fight the kaiju. My minis are painted for my imagination.

Hi Cama,
check out Perfectsixscenics. They have AWESOME accessories for GHQ models (jerry cans, oil drums, ammo crates, etc.) But they also do a fantasy line which includes a dragon.
