So av8rmongo helped figure out my error with my last picture I tried to post. So to prove to myself I can do it more than once correctly, I will post it again here.

Welcome to 6mm scale painting Hoth_902. I agree with WW11 Central that a wash and light dry brush will help a lot. One more tip is that at this scale do not use black but a dark grey such as Tamiya XF-63 German Grey for a more realistic look.

Whish,

I was actually going to post a question about the use of black paint at this scale. Always thought it too shiny and too dark. Thanks for your suggestion. I will pick sum up and try it out.

Looking good dude. Keep at it, it's all about practice.

I've been painting Micro Armor for over 30 years and I hope to get good at it some day :)

Thanks AllenRockwell, I have been to your site a couple of times and really like your stuff and the results. I agree about practice, I just sometimes forget that it all takes time. Especially when I am just starting out. Look forward to feedback and advice any time to help me along.

Just for fun, a serious truck

Post by AllenRockwell »

I made this using a GHQ M1083 FMTV chassis (GHQ #N129) with the bed from a HEMTT (Ghq #N95) and then mounted a .50 cal on the roof and two M249 SAWs in the bed along with an 81mm mortar for a little extra boom. Scraps of sheet metal were added around the rear of the bed to protect the mortar crew.

It's not modeled after anything I've ever seen before, I just thought it would be fun.
