Troops of 6 vehicles will, I think, give you some flexibility. You can have 6 vehicles rampaging over the countryside blasting away with heavy weapons, or they can split into three sections of 2 vehicles each for recon missions.
LAV III and Ferret both have a crew of 3 so the troop headcount will be 18 regardless of which vehicle you are using.
The next question is this: for the light squadrons are you going to run with 3 troops or 4?

OK so if you use the same format for the squadron HQ as for the heavy squadron (2 LAVs, several light vehicles) this should be the result:
Light Armor Squadron
1st Troop: 6 LAV (18 Personnel)
2nd Troop: 6 LAV (18 Personnel)
3rd Troop: 6 LAV (18 Personnel)
4th Troop: 6 LAV (18 Personnel)
HQ Troop: 2 LAV (15 Personnel)
Total: 26 LAV and 87 Dudes
The rollup and headcount will be the same if it is equipped with the ferret Scout car.
Incidentally, the LAV III can carry 7 troops if I recall correctly. 26 LAVs in a squadron means that a LAV III squadron can carry 182 troops - a whole light infantry company.

We can do the big guns next, but we're not quite finished with the armor regiment.
I assume that the regimental HQ will be the same as for the infantry battalion (55 guys), but with more vehicles like M577s and such.
I also assume that since your light squadrons perform reconnaissance that you won't want a scout platoon, and that you also won't want an anti-tank platoon since you have tanks int he unit.
Do you want to keep the mortar platoon in the regimental HQ? Heavy mortars are a great source of fire support, even for fast moving armored units.
And do you want the same organization for the combat service support company? (supply, maintenance, medical) It will need to be much larger than in the infantry battalion because you will have greater supply requirements (more and bigger ammunition, plus A LOT more fuel). You will also need a much larger maintenance unit because of all the arrnored vehicles you've got that need constant maintenance to keep running.

I'm a huge proponent of mortars. The maneuver unit owns the mortars so they are very responsive. They will hit a target much fasyer than an artillery unit will.
Remember that tanks are powerful, but they are still direct fire wwapons. If you want to hit someone behind a hill or put a smoke screen ik front of your guys you will need to use artillery or mortars.

OK no mortars.
I forgot to ask you - does your regimental commander have a tank or LAV? In the ROD, our commander and ops officer both have tanks because it's important to lead from the front.
And for the combat service support company I reduced the headcount in the medical platoon by 6 since you won't need as many combat medics running around. I beefed up the supply and maintenance platoons to reflect the greater logistical and maintenance demand for armored unit. CSS Squadron headcount is 137 using Redleg math.

PM sent in regard to the positioning of your commanders.
So then you have a regiment that I am calling the heavy variant. That's 2 heavy squadrons and 1 light. Then there is the light variant of 1 heavy squadron and 2 light.
Heavy variant is 409 troops, 28 Leo 2 tanks and 26 LAV IIIs

Light variant is 431 troops, 14 Leo 2s and 52 LAV IIIs

Anything you want to change with these?
