I saw that, but I'd rather make my own (unless its from GHQ). Besides, I still have a large amount of styrene left over from projects I did for family.

Too bad this was dropped at his office. At 14 x 14 inches it was respectable.

Yep . . .

The pictures above were taken when it arrived by UPS in California. Nothing was broken! The small dark dots on the bay floor are GHQ figures.

Here is a better picture I did when I first started painting it. I used coat hanger wire to reinforce the arms and wings to keep them level. Basically its all sheet styrene with a few packs of rods and tubes. I only did one and don't plan to do another. It took about 6 months and several restarts (I forgot that in order to keep up the computer processing speed they used a technique of reducing the object's poly count the further away it is :( ) . It really helped when I found a paper model at EVE's forum site.

Sorry guys, I'm straying off the military theme here.

I was just shocked to see something from my other hobby suddenly appear here. I have spent far, faaaaar too many hours on Eve over the last nine years, many of them in a Rifter (though they have nerfed it now :(). If I didn't play Eve I would have painted way more GHQ minis.

It's a Minmatar frigate (spaceship) from the Eve Online game. One of the best MMORPGs - average age of the players well into the adult range.

Just some rough-outs for my latest tangent. I thought I would do a few Sibel before I try the Marinefährprahm.

Slight update.

I'm using weapon proxies until my order comes in :) .

Still have some detailing to do, life preservers and such. I'm still wrestling with how to do the railings, the price of photo etched is a bit much for my budget :( .

They've turned out a tad smaller than I thought they would. At 1mm to the foot they're almost spot on. If I had added a millimeter here and there the fit would have been better in the long run.

Here's the SOC-Rs. A little left to do, but game able just the same.

Okay, still trying to get the hang of the photography thing. These are dark grey on a black background. (The camera shows no mercy). A few details left to do.

I did some railing on the upper levels and decided to leave off the railing for the main deck. It would only get broken off gaming anyhow. I also left the guns loose so they can be used on future craft (at least until I get my next allowance :( ). Looking on the net I located a few pictures of the Siebel craft and it appeared that they were modified in the field as needed. I lost the site for the German Pioneer unit that had 2 105mm mounted on a Siebel for support. Currently down to a few river craft and a few German landing craft.(whew!).

BTW: the ammo boxes were made from 1mm thick sheet styrene cut 2x3mm and 3x4mm. I added a jig to my tire jig to cut reasonable 55gal. drums from 2mm styrene rod at 3mm. Turned out pretty close.

I don't know man. I think they need more guns.

I don't know of any ruleset that would do justice to the possibilities (and the quality of the models), but I can't help imagining a game pitting those Siebels against some of GHQ's Russian BKA-1125s. It would be epic!

Engagements on the Dniepr, anyone?

Thanks for the encouragement :) .

I'm working on a few Russian and a German PiSiBoot 42/43 boat hulls at the moment. As soon as they're done I post pictures.

I'm thinking that a modification of naval rules would be in order. The armor listed for these boats are showing 15mm at best. Short work for a quad 20mm at a reasonable range. It would be fun to see this played out at a convention (being fictional of course :).

Still, its hard to get information on the subject in English and I have to wonder if Germany had planned any other river patrol vessels. (found some for Romania and Poland).
