Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
Wow. Read about the Russian carrier and the issues they are having with it going on patrols and effect on training.

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
Also, your logic is a little off. Your going to keep your ships in port during peace time and bring them out during times of war. Your ship was sunk during wartime, not on a peace time patrol.
Just saying

Not all of the ships will be at port Hoth, this rule is only meant to limit the size of the fleet and the type of warships used during certain operations in both war and peace time in a effort to conserve our assets and prevent any losses.

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
So your saying is that I should deploy my Capital ships out on peace time patrols?

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
Your ships could train in Hudson Strait, Hudson Bay, and Northwestern Passages. Still have some rough water in there, yet more protected. Practice refueling, re-supply training, maintenance, etc.
After all, if you send the capital ships down the western coast of South America. If NC is attacked by EE, uprising of Al Kabab, Territorials, etc. those ships, the task force is week or more away. Can NC afford that? Does NC have any territories elsewhere in the world.
.
We have received intel that EE keeps flying their Bears, although probably not entering NC airspace. But some subs have entered dropping off teams and surveillance equipment: weather, electronics, planes, ships, etc.

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
Ok I'll try that, Chris
HMCS Canada will depart from CFB Halifax once her Carrier Air Wing has been loaded onboard at the docks, she along with a Protecteur class Oiler and a Park Class Cargo ship will steam into Hudson's bay to practice mid transit refueling, resupplying, and Maintenance. The 1st Carrier Air Wing HMCS Canada, will practice real take off and landing procedures on the carrier while out at sea to give the pilots some actual experience. afterwards she will rendezvous with the Frigates HMCS Edmonton, and HMCS Ville De Quebec, and the Trafalgar sub Sockeye at the North West Passage to patrol the area for suspected EE subs that may have entered the area.

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
Usually, aircraft fly onto the carrier. The pilots will be landing on the carrier. The US has had a 'training' carrier in the Gulf of Mexico in Pensecola. The USS Lexington for 20 years is my guess. It was succeeded by the Forrestal.
Currently, when US carriers leave port going to a cruise, aircraft would typically fly out landing on the flattop. Carriers out of Norfolk would sail south as aircraft wings would fly out from NAS Cecil Field, Jacksonville, FL. The two carrier at NS Mayport would sail and the air wings would fly out to land on the ship.

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
Mech are you at war? Do you not have control of your territorial waters? Why would you expect an attack on your carrier within your territorial waters....where is your land based aircraft...destroyer escorts....subs. maritime patrol aircraft and ships? In addition, you are at peace.... 8f your carrier cannot take on aircraft just out of port, you got bigger concerns than if your carrier will be sunk or not.

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
No I’m not at War Hoth, I’m just saying, but it was a dumb thing to say moving on. Besides I got CP-140s and frigates patrolling my waters daily to defend it.
As for the carrier it’s just standard operating procedure even at peace time to have its aircraft compliment loaded at the supply dock before departing, as the carriers arresting cables and Catapults would be offline for maintenance checks before use. Plus that’s where her carrier aircraft are stored in the where houses at the supply dock when not in use and given maintenance by the staff there.
Yea I try to keep maintenance as a top priority.

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
You don't store aircraft in a wearhouse. They fly. Those pilots need to fly constantly. I work in aerospace. If you store them, you will need tons of maintenance to get them ready to fly again. Plus, the pilots need to be ready to do carrier landings before you set go 9n your cruise. If a pilot has trouble doing carrier landings you don't want figure that out during a cruise.
I think I am going step back from this discussion. It's becoming a down ward spiral where I give you solid factual information and you ignore it.
It's your nation, you do you.

CFB Halifax
At the supply dock, the supercarrier HMCS Canada is in the middile of loading her compliment of aircraft from the 1st Carrier Air Wing by crane up to the flight deck then wheeled into the ships elevators to be stowed inside the Hanger Deck for the trip to Hudsons Bay. The pilots from the Carrier Air Wing has arrived by bus to the docks to board the carrier, every pilot is briefed for Fridays Carrier Operations Training to hone their skill in take off and landing on the carrier. Their Aircraft during the trip will be given final maintenance checks by the ship Air techs before they take off for the training flight on that day. The carriers Arresting cables, and Steam Catapult will be tested during the trip as well to make sure they all work properly.
The Pilots are very confident they will do very well in this round of practices, they have being going through weeks of flight training in a Simulator at CFB Halifax they are excited to be back in the cockpit of their CF-18s and looking forward for this. HMCS Canada will depart at Midnight. and arrive at Hudsons bay Friday morning.

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
Off the coast of St Johns Newfoundland.
Escorted by the Trafalgar Class sub HMCS Atlantic Cod, The Supercarrier HMCS Canada is steaming to Hudsons Bay to take part in Carrier Operations Exercise scheduled for Friday. the Air Techs in the Hanger Deck are Hard at work to make sure that all of the Aircraft from the 1st Carrier Air Wing are ready for the exercise, testing out all systems to ensure proper function. Meanwhile on the Flight Deck, Maintenance Crews are giving the ships 4 Steam Catapults some much needed dry runs to warm up the systems to make sure that work, and giving the Arrester Cables the proper tightness to Catch the aircraft when they start their landing exercise.
In the ships "Jets and Anchors" Pub the pilots from the 1st Carrier Air Wing are just passing some time during the trip...With some alcohol involved, some played a game of pool or sat around playing poker or in the Arcade Machines. Tomorrow Morning, they will meet at the Carrier Air Wings Briefing Room to discuss how this exercise will proceed on Friday.

Barricuda trying to get in the Hudson Strait.
Radio back to Greenlanddom Navy HQ, “we are unable to gain access to a Hudson Bay, thus unable to sink the RNC CV.
By chance did you send any other SS/SSN in through the north?
