Underestimating your enemy can be a deadly mistake. Psyops are neither difficult not expensive.

About par for the course. Just keep doing the same thing... go in at the same place, do the same things, only "better." Remember that old song, "What kind of fool am I?"

First thing you do when you find yourself in a hole? STOP DIGGING! That is some Canadian hole.

Outside Sebkha area

A small detachment of 1st Hussars made Camp just 10km outside of the city as part of a Night time observation mission, their Ferret scout cars equipped with hi res cameras began to take pictures of the Brown Trousers weapon emplacements and AA sites to be sent to the Commander onboard the Sliver Dart for examination, plus the hussars encampment will serve as a advanced warning station to the Landing in case the BT decides to move out of the city.

Norther about 48 streets having made progress. Here we send in wheeled and tracked drones (UGV). Some of the wheeled have a .45 ACP weapon system while others are unarmed. The tracked UGV also have a variety of weapons from pistol cartridge, smoke dis-charger or smoke grenades some with 5.56 cartridges systems with larger one have .308 system.
Systems to determine are sighting sytems visual, LL, & thermal; Sound-audio; and movement for BVR and around corners. Some have been shot at, others kicked over. A team of controllers manage a particular house entry working together.
. Moving into this faded tan & blue color home, going up a step, the 6 wheel UGV raises the forward wheels, lowering the middle pair of wheels to elevate the front. Then roll forward and elevate the center pair and elevate the body, them moving forward. This is a scout UGV being followed by two wheeled UGV with .45 weapon system. Going around the house on the port side are 4 tracked UGVs as 3 or going around the starboard side. These are next to the 3 from the UGV assault team for the next house to the right. Going in the front door looking around. No one is there, continuing the search for weapon, Bobbie-traps. the 3 track UGVs come in the back door. The scout moved to the left to some rooms down a short hall A man steps out with an FN FAL expecting a man is surprised with the 4 robots. He shoots 3 times at the close one only aiming on the last shot hitting it at center mass knocking it out of action with destroyed battery, communication system & up-link, etc. A .45 shot is fired as it took a moment for the director of the UGV to use the joy stick to rotate the sighting & gun. He fired twice hittting the rifleman in the leg and center mass. Guy shutters backward to the wall and into the bedroom surprised, shocked he's been shot. Looking at his chest. It starts to hurt and feeling weak he collapses on the stuffed mattress. Panic sets in, holds the rifle aimed at the door towards the ground watching out for these killer robots. One sticks sighting lens beyond the door. The rifleman takes aim missing the sight, hitting the floor just in front of the UGV, again he fires, it is erratic, panic overwhelms him. Another UGV comes into view in the hall, it fires at hime 3-4 seconds later hitting him in the shoulder, upper chest. The pain, shock, why is the bed so wet, red, ... bloody????

With the Recon work done the 1st hussars detachment returns to the Landing, the base is holding a Canada Day celebration today, work on rebuilding the base is temporarily halted, but the bases guards will be out in full force to ensure that the BT would not use this day as an opportunity to attack.

Of course, in a war zone, even death takes a holiday. So much for constantly improving your position. Canada continues its practice of not taking the business seriously. Having just arrived on a hostile shore, it takes a holiday. More useless loss of life ahead. Canada's population must be much bigger these days...

Canada Day, July 1!!!
Set up late last night, a few tubes early this morning. Checking GPS, MapQuest. Canvas covered truck moved into a commercial shop joining 3 others.painted in Aussie Camo, which is the primary color of the Commonwealth: "Long live the Monarchy, Joy and happiness for the next millennium. May the Monarch reign supreme." The four trucks knew their locations to go to. Men walked late at night for preliminary range, direction by GPS. At 0650 the trucks started, drove out into position 2 minutes later.
. The men wheeled the boxes out throwing off the canvas covers, the sheets. Quick inspection even though posted guards through the night were on station. 12 rounds maximum with 12 guys to carry and load the rounds. After you drop your round grab a you specific piece to carry.
0656.the Valkiri MLRS have checked and rechecked position and target coordinates well within their 22 mile range, they open fire with their 40 rounds of 127mm rockets. The MLRS trucks are emptied of their precious cargo. The various mortars open up withing seconds of the Valkiri unit. 120mm, 81mm, even 160mm breach loading mortar firing 4 rounds.
. At Maple Leaf impacts hit in the open, hit the fence, a few bunkers and guard houses, the PX which caught fire as the propane tanks where shredded, warehouses hit, autos, armor, LAVs, etc. Of course people, C-nuts too are hit.
. About two dozen die either right away or later from their wounds. Over 100 suffer some sort of wound including some light scrapes to loosing an extremity.
.
The CoC counter battery radars detect the opening and a second later massive fire with 41 mortars joining in. The firing started to lessen after about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, the longest at 3 minutes. UAVs that are airborne, several are sent to the various firing locations. A firing battery of the 3 CoC Valkiri open fire with HE rounds concentrating on the MLRS position, taking 2 minutes to get the rockets airborne. With a ripple fire of 8 rounds each, 24 HE frag rounds hit in and around the BT (suspected) Valkiri firing position.
Three trucks had moved, one just starting to move. It was hit with HE frag on the launch rack in the back, port-side tires, the cab, fuel tank.... a blazing inferno ensued. Killing 3 men in the cab. a dozen men running from the position that were posted sentries where hit, dismembered. A recovery team from the CoC was not sure which body part belonged to which torso.
. The three CoC Valkiri had automatic change of target as the gears went into the process for new target. set by the control truck. in the back of a elongated M809 truck. Firing at a mortar position with 4 rounds from each truck. Semi-automatic process. 12 rounds hitting in the area, killing 21 men, destroying 5 tubes. Controllers had the next plot confirmed by targeting computer from the counter-battery radar. Now going after 81mm mortars, with 4 rounds each. Killing 5 men. 3 of which were carrying a mortar that they broke-down.
. Target adjustment fire at 120mm mortar battery, that was finished with their rounds, two crews were slow firing and slow to brake-down paid for the delay, 11 men not surviving.
. Target adjustment fire at another battery (81mm), fired 4 rounds each. The explosions killed 4 civilians that cam out to watch, including a 4 year boy standing a block away. The firing crews had moved quickly firing in rapid succession 8 rounds each saving tame and a few lives. The HE frag hit and destroyed several cars, 4 of which were not working, they will not be driven ever again. Homes hit, holes in the roof of a dozen homes.
. Target adjustment fire took place but all the locations had been cleared of weapons and crews. Only damage to the local buildings.
. Comment in the CoC Valkiri command center,by Capt Husigna, "that was a great set up of the MLRS battery and the mortar batteries. I hope we were able to hurt them, Tech Sgt, great job staying alert, Corporal, fantastic identification and getting the data fed quickly. You did well young man, did well!!!"
. Capt Husinga continued, "where did the fire hit, what targets?" Corporal Felin responded, "it was the Canadian base, Maple Leaf. Looks like rounds hit almost all over according to the computers tracking the firing plots, sir."
. .Husinga continued, "Communications, let brigade know ASAP,, the Canucks may need help. Get on it."

Maple Leaf Landing
There was panic through out the port after the Rocket and Mortar rounds fell on the base on Canada Day, killing several and injuring over 100 others, the the Royal Canadian Medical Service is hard at work to help out the wounded and recovery efforts, Work resumed on rebuilding the base with the workers who survived the attack.

Back on the Siliver Dart, the Command Staff is scrambling to figure out where those Rocket and Mortar Attacks came from? Was it BT, or one of the other Factions in the city, nobody at the base had seen where the rockets came from, the Command staff will bring in the Royal Artillery of Canada to examine the area and determine where they came from.

From the BT point of view.
The early morning attack on the K-nuks came 1 minute before the attack on the Northern BT part of the city. The BT believe that both attacks came from the CofC held part of the city.
Loss of life was heavy within the BT area.
127mm rockets and 160mm mortars are not used by any of the BT forces.

Nouakchott, Mauritania
MMNN (Mauritania (iMaginary) New Network with Desert Rat Nouak reporting. "General Overdrive. my source said that you commanded the attack on the Canadians 2 days ago. Is it true, why, and What happened?"
, "Thank you for visiting us, it was successful attack, we did sustain some losses of good people. Let me clarify some comments from our friends up north. Who is that guy that is full of it, that dumb fool?" said BT Overdriver. Continuing, "The BT did the attack, Not sure why YB would want to say anything. I approved the attack, gave concept of the idea asking for all the mortars and rockets we could get. Heck the Valkiri MLRS came from the CoC army warehouse as did most of the mortars or were in Mauritania Army of Guard. (You didn't thing BT stood for 'brown trousers' did you, Bachman Turner, my first and middles names). I was a general in the Mauritania Army. We were going through a transition because of the membership in CoC."
"As that 'milk shake' from YB has said that BT was initially organized to fight again Al-Kabob, which is true. As factions were developing. I am in support of the Nationality of Mauritania and if the country decides to be a member of the Comonwealth, that is fine. BT even helped the police until they all disappeared, then acted as police in our sector. Not sure why Canada is fighting us or has been. I do know why they will in the future. I have learned that the mortar and rocket attack did a lot of damage to the C-nuts. It seemed that the C-nuts were fighting everybody, or almost. The Commonwealth has only gotten in the big fight lately. We will try not to fight them. I know why they fired on the mortars, not sure who is firing, why. It is sad that we lost some good men inthe mortar attack, Operation Reversal. We did not know if any counter battery fire would occur at all. If there was we thought that Canada would have done the CB fire."

That's a lot of people about to hit Maple Leaf Landing all at once. I hope you are ready to provide food and water and sanitation for all those troops.Maybe you need to send a supply ship every few days from Canada, or see if you can establish a secure supply base nearby, but outside of the combat zone so you can stockpile supplies.

Maybe a former oil tanker filled with porta-potties... there isn't enough real estate there for the required latrines...

Don't worry about the supply issue as the workers just finished a large supply depot just south of the landing they will handle all the needs of the forces there. there's also a runway being built just near the depot in order to get large transport aircraft to land there thus cutting down on the wait times for supplies to come in from Canada.

New 2 story barracks will be built to house all the troops at the Landing as well as facilities to handle sanitation, a large cafeteria to feed the troops, and rows of giant water tanks to keep a large army hydrated.
