BMP-T AND the NAMER? Oh happy day!
Its a sniper rifle, not a "sniper"! You don't call an assault rifle an "assault"!

Jagdpanzer E-50

Post by Schwerepunkt »

Thank you for producing this excellent model. It will compliment my Werhmacht 47 forces nicely. I presume it carries the 128/55 as on the JagdTiger. One advantage over the latter is that the silhouette on the PanzerJager E-50 is it's much lower.

From what I can see in the photograph of GHQ's g559, I don't think the Jagdpanzer E-50 carries the 12.8cm/L55 gun as on the JagdTiger. The 12.8cm/L55 had a smooth barrel with no step while the gun barrels in the photograph seems to have a definite step about half-way to the muzzle. I would suggest a 10cm or 10.5cm KwK. In fact, this looks a lot like the gun mounted on GHQ's g539 , E-75.

Although a significant improvement on the JagdTiger in terms of height, I would have preferred for GHQ to model the proposed version with the engine in front and the fighting compartment in back. The length of the gun barrel sticking out the front of the vehicle as modeled would have imposed uncomfortable limitations on maneuverability.

Of course, this is all hypothetical anyway, so assume whatever gun you like.

Yes, I can definitely see the step in the barrel...

......so a smaller caliber than the 128/55 might have been mounted. In looking at the barrel, on the other hand, it appears to be a heavy piece of ordinance, perhaps bigger than the 105 or 100 mm gun.
As you say, since these are never built armored projects, I can choose whatever gun I like.
I may vary it with the type of foe faced in combat. :D :D

Great Coats!

I ordered 10 packs of the Federal Infantry advancing in great coats; for starters. I will be using them for my huge Chattanooga Campaign game at Historicon 2011.
