W 2 jeeps I would like to see GHQ add

Post by green beanie »

The jeep was one of the best know and well used vehicle by all of the allied nations. The Russian infantry man knew two words of English. Willis and Studebaker. I would love to see more jeep types out there on my game table. This is just a short list so I look forward to seeing some others I might have forgotten. Hopefully some of these will get around to being porduced and added to the line soon;

Jeep with 1919 .30 cal MG
Jeep with 1917 .30 water cooled MG
Ambulance jeep, one version the extened jeep with cover to shelter litters, one version with the open jeep with litters attached on an angle in the pointing upwards.
Jeep with wire cutter up front, used mostly in Normandy
Armoured Jeeps. some reccon units and the 82 nd Airborne had armoured kits for the front and sides and radiator of the jeep. They then mounted a .50 cal. on a pintal in the center and a pintal mounted 1919 .30 cal on the passenger side. Some instead of the.50 cal had twin bazookas mounted instead.
NW Europe SAS jeep.
Sorry I do not have the M series number for these on hand but there were jeep mounted rocket launchers that one version used a mouse trap type of launcher in the back of the jeep and another version had side mounts.

Anyone have any they would like to see added?

don't forget SAS and LRDG British jeeps in North Africa. Also there were special jeeps made for Market-Garden. Probably best would be a "Jeep Accessories" kit with all the necessary parts. Good idea too to include pictures or website addresses where pictures can be found. For my part, I have several scratchbuilt modifications - armored jeeps from US Airborne for example. Definetely a cool, one-off, look.
