" Old Problem Simple Solution "

Post by Ivan »

First things first , I sent a reply to a posting about gluing tank turrets to the hulls, and decided to just make my own post that way everyone will see it when they log on to the forum. I don't glue my turrets on,also I don't use magnets, screws or nails or anything else you might think of using. And ALL OF MY TANK TURRETS ROTATE AND THEY DON'T COME OFF WHEN YOU HOLD THEM UPSIDE DOWN ! . This is what I been doing for a long time . I use one of two different sizes of DRILL BITS 7/32 for large tanks , and 11/64 bit for small tanks and armour cars, Take one of the drill bits I mention ,If you have a battery operated drill thats fine { BUT YOU CAN JUST WRAP MASKING TAPE AROUND THE BIT , SO YOU CAN GET A BETTER GRIP AND IT ALSO SAVES YOUR FINGER FROM GETTING SORE } I also use a magnifygass which has a 60 watt bulb, since my eyes are bad. With that mention gramb a tank and flip it over so you can see the BELLY OF THE TANK NOW TAKE A BIT , DRILL AT THE TURRET MOUNT HOLE,BE CAREFULL NOT TO DRILL TO DEEP [ ITS LIKE A COUNTERSINK ] YOU JUST WANT TO EXPOSE THE length of the TURRET PIN [ I REPETE ,JUST DEEP ENOUGH TO EXPOSE THE TURRET PIN ] NOW FOR THE TURRET PIN ITSELF GRAB A TURRET AND FLIP IT OVER NOW TAKE AN EX-ACTO KNIFE AND CAREFULLY [ SPLIT THE TURRET PIN DOWN THE MIDDLE] NOW YOUR TURRET PIN SHOULD CONSIST OF TWO PRONGS. After that you can remount your turret on you tank. [ IF YOUR TURRET DOESN' T GO ON EASY JUST SQUEEZE THE TWO PRONGS TOGETHER UNTIL THE TURRET POPS ON .THEN JUST FLIP THE TANK OVER AND RESPREAD THE TWO PRONGS [ I USE A SMALL FLATHEAD SCREW-DRIVER ] using a knife you might cut off one of the prongs. NOTE; I DO THIS ALL OF THIS BEFORE I PRIMER MY TANKS BE EXTRA CAREFULL NOT TO CUT YOUR FINGERS WHEN SPLITTING THE TURRET PIT . I did panzer ll , stuarts , lee, grant, and even M8 armour cars not a problem YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DO LOTS OF TANKS IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME EVEN IF YOU PLAY 1;1 RATIO GAMES . I Just wanted to be able to present my method !. . LATER COMMRADES ( Note when doing panzer ll and puma.s and other small tanks and armour cars I use a 3/32 drill bit )
