An Idea: Annual Engineer Sale!

Post by JasonAfrika »

GHQ offers a random selection of on sale items each month and several yearly sales. Why not have themed sales also? For example. Virtually all of the ARV and Wrecker packs have only 2 models. Talking to Greg years ago he explained this had nothing to do with the amount of metal nor the complexity of the mould etc etc...it was simply a marketing technique. That might have been OK when packs were 6.95 but now...anyhow why not generate sales THAT YOU WOULD PROBABLY NEVER GET by offering a 2 for 1 special sale on ARVs? People who never buy them because of the $6 a piece cost(you can buy UK products for 75 cents each, albeit of lower quality) would definitely wanna jump on that bargain. GHQ would still only essentially be selling 4 models per pack as opposed to 5 so they would HAVE to make out OK. You cant tell me that the metal of 4 BTS-2Ts is more than 5 Leopard 2s for example. It would only be a 1-2 day sale, once per year. It would HAVE to generate sales that GHQ would not normally get. I would gladly drop $100. New items that were made in the last year would NOT be elligible as GHQ must recoup their costs. Just older moulds like:
BTS-2T, BPZ-2, M31 ARV, m32 ARV, FAMO, Bergepanther, M936, etc.
If the sale was successful you could have other themed sales, NOT at buy 1 get 1 because only the ARVs only have 2 in a pack but at HEAVY "I cant pass up this sale" discounts (30% or more). Armored Cars, SP Artillery or whatver GHQ felt was workable and still profitable.
Another point to mention is that people are purchasing alot more specialty stuff on Shapeways than ever before especially engineering type vehicles so this has to pull away from GHQ's sales.
Well there you have, just a thought...any ideas? Would customers jump on a sale like that? I think so. But would Chan even consider it????

I am in favor of SOME solution... I need sets of five M88s for H series tank battalions, and seven for J series tank battalions. I need 6 M578s for H series mech battalions and 7 M88s for for J series M2 battalions. I need 2 bridges for each H series tank battalion. I can usually work out ways to accommodate the odd packaging, if course. But my Brits and Germans likely won't have the combat support vehicles they should for some time. H series tank bns need 1 wrecker, the other one can go to a different battalion.

Think GHQ market mostly to gamers and most would only need a few.
Wish they would offer a volume discount.
Maybe like a go fund me
Let’s said $1000 at 15% off list
At $5000 it would be at dealers price
Each pack at different levels
Boy that would be fun

Seem like the English company are more creative when it comes to marketing.
I somehow got carried away with Black Friday and bought worth of stuff I don’t think I really need from England

Well one can dream....lol

Btw if it does starts I’m in for $500,
