equipment of Cdn RCAC

Post by Wayne »

Cama,
I`m reading on the RCAC (An Illustrated History) I really can`t see what trucks or wheeled vehicles were used by the Corps. I think the early 60s would be a good start for tanks, scout cars, trucks etc. to equip your armoured regiment. I know that we were using M37 3/4 tons, older jeeps (not the M151 MUTT) older style deuce and a half ton (this one had more of a curved hood not the flat ones you see now). Yes, the Corps had Ferrets into 1967 about the time it had acquired the Lynx. I had ordered some Lynxes from the other company about ten years ago and wanted to make up a armoured regiment but other things got in the way. Helos, were used for the recce troop in the Light armoured regiments. I did training in Wainwright and Cents were used as our enemy and we used M113s and Lynxes. There were jeeps M38 types and 3/4tons and 2 1/2 tons all sorts of stuff that we would have to use against the Soviets. Not sure if this will help but do what you can and I`d like to see this on this site.

Hi,

have to second the Ferret. A real gap in the UK range as it has been in use with the Brits from the 50s to the 90s!

Cheers Ben
