Some will love this list, some won't. However you feel about it, please keep in mind that every year the list takes several months to put together. Customer e-mails, phone calls, letters, this forum, and conversations at conventions all give us thousands of suggestions to consider every year. We really value what our customers would like to see us release, and we appreciate all of these. We also have our own ideas about new models, and lines to introduce. The process is part science, part art. Let everyone know what you think.

Thanks for looking,
GHQ

I like the list. A second pack of (German I think) infantry is great, variety rules. And Romanians - fantastic.

Keep up the great work.

Go Ontos.

The Cage Mast Fleet has arrived! :D As a 1/2400 scale warship collector, I'm very happy to finally see WW1 US Battleships added to the product line. With luck (and good sales numbers), we will see more WW1 battleships in future years, including the USN pre-dreadnaughts too (think Great White Fleet!) and (holding my breath) the Washington Treaty cancellations. Lots of potential!!
I'm also looking forward to seeing what's in those new Aircraft Packs too!
Great Work, GHQ!!

The ONTOS...ugly duckling or deadly looking?

Post by thenorthman »

The Ontos, officially the Rifle, Multiple 106 mm, Self-propelled, M50, was a light anti-tank vehicle developed in the US in the 1950s. It mounted six M40 106 mm recoilless rifles as its main armament, which could be fired in rapid succession against single targets to guarantee a kill. The US Marines were the only force to use the Ontos operationally, and although their crews consistently reported excellent results against infantry during the Vietnam War, the Ontos was always considered an "ugly duckling" and was removed from service in 1969.

The Ontos (Greek for "the thing") project was created to be an air transportable tank-destroyer capable of being lifted by the cargo aircraft of the 1950s. This limited it to a weight between 10 and 20 tonnes, the only other limitation to the design being that it had to use the six-cylinder engine then widely used in the Army's GMC trucks. Allis-Chalmers was awarded the contract on August 12, 1955, for 297 vehicles.

Plus are the aircraft packs I see in 1/2400?

GREAT list once again and thanks for the hard work.

New Releases

Post by 30YRSGHQ »

An awesome list of new releases, many that have been at the top of my list for years. I would always like to see more, but a nice list to satisfy most tastes (at least a bit). It is nice to see a few more Micronaut WWII releases, especially the additional aircraft packs. Alos very much looking forward to the M48A3, the Ontos, Cougar and M119 105mm Howitzer. Never enough, but always awesome! Thanks!!!

Wow - I don't get it. The list is absolutely puzzling. I really don't even know what 75% of the items are. All these will also cost $ 9.95 a pack in case anyone failed to notice the other thread.

New Releases - Sort of...

Post by gldmilburn »

I would be interested in seeing blister packs for the various towing vehicles separate from the items they tow. For example in the British range - Crusader Primer Movers are available with 17pdr ATG, but not separately. Matador tractors, Quad tractors, Morris tractors all have the same issue and I am sure other ranges are similar.

I am interested in filling out full TO&E's for transportation units and artillery regiments which often call for additional vehicles but not guns, so 12 Quad tractors, but only 8 guns. I don't really want to spend additional money buying each vehicle separately or with the guns.

Aaah! Romanian infantry?!?!

[runs in circles waving arms around in the air]
But what am I supposed to do with all those Italian infantry figures I bought as stand-ins to build my Romanian army with?
[/runs in circles waving arms around in the air]

No, wait a minute. I also have an Italian army. I could always paint 'em up as Italians, if need be.

And I already have the R2 tanks, and the "Romanian 47mm ATGs" (same as the Italian), and the Malaxa prime movers for the "Romanian 47mm ATGs" (same as the French UE), and some 75mm field guns (same as the French 75mm).

So I guess Romanian infantry ... real Romanian infantry, will be welcome enough that I'll have to buy them as soon as they come out.

Oh, and I'll also have to buy the French 47mm ATGs, and the W15 TCC tank destroyers (Why labelled Hotchkiss? It was a Laffly!), for my WW2 French forces. And the VBLs and the VAB Mephistos for my modern French forces. Maybe some Gazelles, too.

And since I've already bought a fair bit of modern Chinese, I really should pick-up some of the Type 81s or Type 89s.

And who could resist Rolls Royce Armored Cars? I don't even know what to do with them, but I just gotta have some!

Oh, and a birddog. Gotta have a birddog. Actually, I already HAVE a birddog, just like I already have Gazelles, and "Romanian" infantry. But they ain't up to GHQ levels, and if GHQ is gonna make some, I've just gotta have some.

[pulls hair]
Kee-rist, what am I gonna do? I'm already behind on my painting, and I haven't even bought my M4A1s (for Tunisia) yet. I'll have to quit my job, so I can spend more time painting up my minis. No, wait, then how will I be able to afford all the minis to paint? I think I sprained my brain. ...
[/pulls hair]

I wonder how the new German infantry will look? I do hope there is some effort put into re-organizing the poses and equipment.

I really have to say that I appreciate all the new goodies on the list. And it does seem that GHQ listens well. Either they are paying attention to what I want, or I want just about anything they make. Either way, my wallet feels restless already.

Yep Oil prices are effecting everything. Not maybe the production of the mini's isn't directly using oil but eberything today is some how related just about to oil.

I am actually surprised they didn't raise it sooner than they did. It has been quite awhile since they raised it from the $6.95 a pack hasn't it?

A couple of nice things

Post by Hylander6 »

Hello,
Pretty nice list. I was glad to see at least one WW1 non battleship. The Monmouth will be a welcome addition to my British fleet.
Although I do recognise the addition of the Hiei as an important vessel in the Japanese navy, I would REALLY, REALLY like to see a second version of the Kuma class light crusiers (the other 3 vessels not converted to torpedo carriers, i.e. Kitakami) These 3 vessels saw alot of action in WW2, especially the Tama. Please consider this for future releases.
