Since it says '4x4 APC' , it's probably the new Mine Resistant Armored Vehicle (truck), not the Canadian LAV variant.

With respect to UKN40, CA London, scheduled for August 2007: will this be the original London as built (covering the class of 4) or the London as reconstructed?

1. How is the M1114 different from the uparmored Humvee currently available?
2. What is the FAV? Is that the dune buggy vehicle that Rangers use?

I do ultra-moderns and near-future sci-fi exclusively so these are some great releases, I just wish there were more of them. The most pleasing is the Cougar 4x4, although new Chinese stuff is always appreciated.

I have a couple of questions regarding the new releases:
1) How is the new USS Houston kit different from the USS Northhampton (USN28) kit that was previously released?

2) How is the IJN Hiei kit different from the Kongo (IJN9) and Kirishima (IJN10) kits?

I am happy to see at last one modern British on the list (okay plus the M119 which is based on the British L118) and will buy some of the Saxons.
The modern Brits still need a real ARV!

Have to second Noble's question about the FAV - will it be a buggy?
Referring the M1114 I would say it will be similar to the M1025 w. AOA but the M1114 is based on the M1113 ECH which for example has a different front. Maybe the M1114 will be fitted with a different gun-shield or get a CROWS.

Furthermore Klebert is right, this Cougar will not fit the Canadians – I also bet it will be Mine Protected 4x4 APC in use with US Forces and the new Iraqi Army as far as I know (while the Canadians operate the RG-31 mine-protected vehicle, which is also in use with the US Forces). A modified version named Tempest is operated by the British army but it looks very different.
There also is a 6x6 version of it in use with US Forces and the British again have their own version of it named Mastiff.

I've read through the list six or seven times now trying to get jazzed about something. Trying to decide if I should add my whining and crying to all the others. The high point for me is that someone will now produce a quality VBL! Since I'm selling off the Soviet armies I have, I'm not doing French armies (I'll let you figure out the rest of that tired joke)so even that leaves me a little underwhelmed. To be sure there are some good base hits- M119, M1114, Saxon even the UK aircraft pack. But there are no home runs this year. We will at last be able to complete a late war (WWII) recovery and repair company (or whatever) sixty plus years after the fact but we can't fight a decent representation of the Falkland Islands 25 years laters. Maybe the 2040-2041 releases will finally complete the Falklands range.

Since they came out with the Fennek and PzH2000 I had vague hopes that we might see the Mungo, Dingo, Boxer, Puma or Wiesel (in some or all its forms) since some of these vehicles are actually being used somewhere today.

I know that the potential return from a modern warship pack is less than GHQ can expect from a vehicle pack. But to my way of thinking I buy 1 pack of Buffalo and 1 pack of Cougar and I'm done. Okay maybe one more of each for my UK forces but that's it.

My rant has now bored even me.

We have seen that a few people on this forum, and received some e-mails, from people who are wondering about the WWII German Infantry pack #2, G-525. Over the years we have heard from quite a few customers (some of whom have posted their feelings on this forum) who have complained about the lack of poses in the WWII German Infantry pack G-144. Many of these people have suggested that we release more poses. Your requests have been heard, and that is what German Infantry Pack #2 (G-525) is, the same uniforms as G-144, with more poses. We listen, and we do what we can to keep our customers happy.

Looking forward to seeing the new poses in the G-525 pack. The only thing I didn't like about the poses in the G-144 pack was the number of troops throwing grenades seemed excessive. Also, I would like to get started in 10mm Naps so I was glad to see Austrians. Would like to do Austerlitz, or at least part of it. For Naps and ACW, sure would like to see some poses of infantry reloading.

The Canadians will soon be using the cougar APV in afghanistan, though I beleive the 6x6 version alongside the new buffalo.

I must say, like the list quite a bit, has a plethora of new things that I most likely will see....lol, thought not in my collection but in several peoples who's micro-armour I am currently painting..can't remeber when I actually painted my own. Hope to chat again soon, talk with you all later.

Not a bad list. It seems to cover a lot of ground. I'm looking forward to the M-119 Light Gun, FAV, the M-1114 Hummer, and the Cougar. The rest are interesting, but not my cup of tea. Still hoping for modern artillery crews (US, UK, Russian/Soviet). Converting infantry can be a pain. The Ontos is cool. I'll get some just to have them. I've still got my Marines, Strykersand Muj/Taliban to complete.

Some of us (myself included) were wondering why GHQ chose to build the Houston since we already have the Northampton class built, so I looked up the USS Houston CA-30 in Conway's All the World's Fighting Ships and found out the following in regards to the Northampton Class:
"Three ships, Augusta, Chicago, and Houston, were built as flagships, with additional accomodation secured by an extension of the forecastle aft to the two catapults." So I guess there were some minor differences within the class - you've gotta love these guys! It gives me great hope that one day I will see similar attention paid to the Royal Navy and the Kriegsmarine.
