KillerSix:
First of all, thank you for your service, sir. I have a friend who's son is deployed with a Stryker BCT, and his is the company that I'm trying to build. Much of my info comes from my friend, the rest comes through research. I plan on updating the company after their refit. Thanks for the added info on the RWS. MGS, & AT.
Welcome aboard the forum.

Fortunately, most of the Stryker upgrades are not visible from outside the vehicle (especially at 1/285 scale). The changes to the "birdcage" slat armor are probably the most noticable.

The only issue I have with GHQ's Stryker models is the Medical Evacuation Vehicle (MEV). The pack comes with RWS .50cals, but the MEV is unarmed. I cut the machine gun off of the RWS tower and used it like that. Someone with more skill and patience could drill a hole through the area that the machine gun was. The actual MEV has the same RWS tower as the ICVs (video/ thermal sights for 360 degree visibility and smoke grenade dispensers), but an open space where the weapon system would go.

I'd like to see Mk 19s for the RWS and non-RWS vehicles and some M240Bs on pintle mounts for ATGMs and MCV-Bs too.

Are the 120 mm mortar rounds laser designated? or can they be successfully targeted by laser? Larger arty has that capability. South Africa, Germany and the US have been working on that for years and years.

Thank you

Hi Guys:

Some news from the sandpile. 4/2ID has MGS. 3/2ID will get them and other upgrades in refit. Slat armor on everything. He couldn't say much with the new regs. in place. KillerSix maybe you are able to provide more info?

Sorry for the late reply. I've been in the field.

MGS:
My unit is not scheduled to receive the MGS for several years. I've heard rumors of how the Army plans to field them, but I don't know who has them now and who is scheduled to receive them in the near future.

Laser Guided Mortar Munitions:
I know the Army experimented with 81mm and 120mm laser guided rounds. The 120's were likely to be accepted, but the 81's were supposedly jugded to be too small to make it worth while.

Some units will receive the new M777 light weight howitzer soon.

I'm currently working on a Modern campaign, and would like to field a Stryker Brigade,or now known as BCT. What units would the BCT constitute? I see you mentioned the M777. Do you now have a battalion of arty?

Here's one example that I found online. Where you see the notation Px the x indicates the number of personnel represented. I believe this data is from a computer game so I have no clue as to how accurate it is. But it does appear to agree with what little info I have found out there at the company and battalion level.

Killer Six are you stationed up here in the Stryker Birgade (Alaska is what I mean when I say up here.)?

I'm not in Alaska.

There are some errors in the SBCT Org posted above, but it's a 95% solution.

KillerSix,

Any errors in the following:

1. Stryker Infantry Battalion

2. AT Company

3. Recon Company

4. Engineering group

I'm building all of the above with GHQ models so I'm very curious. I'm also building some transport units but I'm not as concerned about accuracy there since they serve primarily as objectives in my games (eg convoy escort, base defense, etc.)

I'll go over the posted org later, but just from skimming through it:

1. There seem to be a lot more HMMWVs across the board than we have.

2. We don't have any M9 ACEs.

3. The Rifle Platoons are adjusted for the game. Our Rifle Platoons have four ICVs with a HQ, three Rifle Squads (9 men each) and a Weapons Squad of two M240B teams.

4. The Anti-Armor Company has one ICV for the CO, one FSV for the FSO, two 5-ton trucks, and three platoons of three ATGMs each. No HMMWVs in the MTOE.

5. When units receive the M777, they get an extra platoon per battery. We will increase from 12 M198s to 18 M777s in the Artillery Battalion

I'm sure there are other issues in the various support elements, but I haven't memorized how each element is organized.

Thanks guys for the info. About the FSV for the FSO,is this a Stryker vehicle? And if so what is the difference with it?

The FSV (Fire Support Vehicle) is a Stryker variant with a Non-RWS weapon (normally an M2 .50 cal) and FS3 sight. The FS3 is a large site mounted on the vehicle. GHQ makes this variant.

Thanks! Playing 5:1 scale I guess I don't really need it if it is part of the HQs section.
