JB: If you are only doing a Stryker Battalion at 1:5 the Stryker Combat Command provides most of the vehicles. You may have to add a Hummer and truck, and maybe a mortar carrier. If you're going to do an entire brigade, you're a better man than I am. :D My CFO would cut off my funding, and my fun.

Killer Six: If you're not in AK, then you must be in WA. I know the Army is still playing with the Stryker TO&E. Do you know anything about the Cav. Sqdn. (RSTA)? I've got info on the Bn. Recon. Platoon, but not the RSTA. Thanks.

The RSTA SQDN is organized into five Troops. The HHT is small with only the staff and medical platoon. The Surveillance Troop uses UAVs, SIGINT, etc to collect intel (the MI Company has all of the ** CENSORED **). The NBC Platoon of three NBCRV variants is also in the Surveillance Troop. The three Recon Troops each have three platoons of four RVs and a headquarters with a mortar section of two MCV-Bs, an FSV and one or two RVs for the CO & XO (I'm not certain that the XO has an RV). I'm sure there are other small elements that I'm neglecting.

I'm in 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Germany.

JB:
You could start with the above GHQ URL from the army list section of the site. It's a little out of date, but a good starting point. The GlobalSecurity website has the Army Field Manuals. http://www.strykernews.com/ sometimes has TO&E information.

Killer Six:
2nd Cav. Rgt.? I have a younger brother who served in the 2nd Cav. (Arm'd) in the late 70's. Good outfit then, and now. I forgot that it was converted to a Stryker brigade. It was the 1st Bde./25th Inf. Div. was it not?

We switched from 1/25 ID to 2 CR about a year again. The Dragoons do have a long history.

Killer6,
What color scheme would I need to paint the 2d ACR's vehicles? Do ALL Strykers utilize the "slat" armour?

All of our Strykers are straight green. It's not OD green, but a more pale color.

All deployed Strykers have slat armor. They mount it in theater. We do have reactive armor for other theaters/ threats, but we use slat armor in Iraq.

Killer6,
Thanks for the reply.
I'm currently working on a hypothetical "campaign" if you will. It is modern day,and uses the topo maps of the area I live in. Having a Stryker unit is more than ideal for the road network that is present. I also love the idea of a Stryker platoon having 3 full squads and a weapons squad. Reality and game wise this is real bonus. I also have to mention the "threat" BTR regiments that will have the same advantage.
As for the paint job I was hoping to use the tri color camo, but I would like to be authentic with the units color. This green you talk about I know. It is almost the same as some WWII OD.
Thanks again.
John

JB:

My contact in 3/2ID says that all of their vehicles are painted in "NATO Green". My catalog info calls this out to be FS34094 NATO Tricolor Green. Pick your manufacturer.
He also said that no tricolor pattern has been decided upon. As noted before, slat armor on everything deployed to the sandpile. Killer Six may have different info for the 2nd Cav.
Hope this helps.

Just to let everyone know, my friend's son in the 3rd Bde (Stryker), 2nd Inf. Div. has made it home OK. I hope to see him at Christmas and give him his company in miniature. If I get any additional info from him, I'll pass it along.
